“What, why?” I had to ask. I was confused as to why his tone suddenly got all serious now.

He shifted in his seat quite uncomfortably, his eyes wavering as well. “I think you should reconsider telling them because…well, to ensure that you still get the position,”

I frowned. “I don’t understand what you’re getting at,”

“You don’t know how they would feel on hearing about your past, you know? They might take back their offer because they wouldn’t want to get on Alpha Fenrir’s bad side by helping you,” he said sheepishly.

I thought over his words for a while. He isn’t lying, Alpha Fenrir instills fear into the hearts of many and it wouldn’t be that surprising if they do change their mind.

But it didn’t make sense for me to keep my true identity and past from them. In fact, it’s more dangerous and it would make me untrustworthy to keep secrets from the people who put their faith and loyalty in me on the very first day that I arrived in their village.
