My mouth dropped open slightly in surprise. I’ve not yet decided on my answer yet, so I was a little bit shocked when Martha affirmed on my behalf.

I wanted to correct those words and say that my decision to be the new leader was indecisive, but when I saw Martha’s eyes, those blazing, determined ones, I shut my mouth.

I’ve never seen her so fired up like this. She noticed me staring and gave me a quick, soft glance. That was when I knew that she supported it and there was nothing to fear, as long as she had my back.

The women all around audibly gasped, looking at me all star stuck. They were muttering and whispering amongst themselves excitedly, at the new information.

“Um…is this true? Are you really going to take the position of our new leader?” Their spokeswoman with a blushing face asked, her eyes glittering with curiosity and excitement.

I sighed. “Yes, it’s true. But—”
