“Goodbye, ma’am. I do hope you come visit next time. It was a pleasure,” the old man, who I’ve come to know as Jing, told me.

“If I have the time, I definitely will,” I assured him with a smile, waving goodbye.

I left the building, with heavy thoughts weighing in on my mind. Everything that Jing said to me was ringing in my head like sirens.

What did he mean by its fate? He refused to elaborate on that after those peculiar words left his lips and that only confused me more.

How would he know Alex’s fate? We’ve only spent two nights here and yet, the old man deduced that being the leader of Netherand is somehow Alex’s destiny? Just because his friend, who was a Dark Fur too, was the former leader?

My head hurts. I was way too tired and stressed for this. When Alex comes back, I might discuss the subject with him, but right now, I want to go home and slip under my covers.
