“Come on, come on…” I muttered under my breath. I’ve been dialing Geri’s number for almost five minutes, but he hasn’t picked up, not once. I could understand that he was being careful because of Lucian, but pick up at least!

“Hello?” He finally picked up, startling me. His voice was gruff and defensive. “Kai, I think I’ll have to call you back later—”

“Oh thank fuck,” I breathed out with a sigh. “It’s me, Alex,”

“Alex? Oh thank goddess, you’re still alive,” His voice changed into a relieved slash worried tone, and it was more of a whisper this time. “You’re with Kai? How’d that happen? How about Martha? Is she okay?”

“It’s a long story, Geri. But we’re both fine, trying to stay low and survive at least,” I smiled. I was glad to know that he was safe as well, I almost thought that he’d get caught. “So, how’s everything on your end? Any news on Alpha Fenrir? Lucian? Fill me up on everything,”
