Seventy- seven

“Enough,” I boomed, drawing nearly half the attention of the pub, except for the already inebriated.

I wanted to wince at the sudden attention being placed on me, but I swallowed down my discomfort and focused on the two men in front of me.

“And who the fuck are you?” The one with the ginger beard asked, turning his anger on me.

“Just a concerned citizen,” I muttered, rethinking my decision entirely.

I could sense the waves of misunderstanding flowing between the two men. They were hurt deep down by their words and their actions. But the anger and pride wasn’t making them think straight enough to talk it out.

“Well, mind your goddamned business before I fuck you up!” The other one with cropped dark hair retorted.

I was barely fazed by their words and threats. Just sizing them up and the rest of the untrained men in this pub, I could beat them all hands down, without breaking a sweat, save for my current injury.

“Just listen to me—” I started again, only to be rudely interrupted.
