Martha

“Where could Alex possibly be?” I mutter to myself, wrapping my arms around my chest.

I was currently in front of the hotel, in my pajamas with a shawl wrapped around my shoulders. I’ve been waiting for Alex for nearly two hours now, but he hasn’t showed up yet.

I was really worried, and I knew it was risky being out here in the open like this, but I couldn’t stop being uneasy. The fact that I wasn’t able to communicate with him was the most frustrating.

Though, after a few minutes, I saw him approaching from a distance and by the looks of it, he looked unhurt, much to my relief.

“Martha? What are you doing out here?! Don’t you know it’s dangerous?! And you’re freezing!” He protested, rushing to my side as soon as he saw me.

“Well, I could say the same about you! Do you know how worried I was?! You said that you were coming by lunch time, yet you didn’t make it! This is past twelve on the next day!” I nearly yelled.

His look softened. “I’m sorry, okay?”

“Sorry doesn’t cut it,
