CHAPTER 186

PRECIOUS

“I told you that you wouldn't be able to run away from me, didn't I?“ A mocking voice whispered, its tone sending chills of fear down my spine and I spun around, my eyes flickering over the source of the voice.

The voice belonged to a woman, her hair was let loose so that it fanned her tanned skin. A low, mocking laugh left her mouth and I felt my body shiver at the uneasiness it brought me.

I open my mouth to say something but no words—not even one, left my mouth. My throat felt dry and I swallowed the small saliva that I had in my mouth to try to ease the dryness of my mouth.

“I asked a question and I expect an answer from you, tiny mate.” She frowned, her dark blue eyes peering into my hazel ones. I wished my wolf would come out but it wouldn't—she had been feeling weak for a long time, longer than I'd remember, so I knew I was alone in this. Whoever this lady is—whatever her mission is, I don't know and I don't want to wait to find that out.
