CHAPTER 188

TIGER

I forced my eyes open to the sounds of a scream. I perched my ears up to hear more but everywhere suddenly became silent. The sound was similar, almost as though it belonged to my mate but I quickly dismissed the feeling.

Although I was awake, I still felt reluctant to leave the comfort of my bed and the softness of my duvet. I sighed, shutting my eyes to try and fall asleep but it didn't work.

I cursed the sounds that made me wake up at this ungodly hour, knowing that I wouldn't be able to fall asleep again. It seemed as though there was darkness that always welcomed me whenever I fell into the depth of sleep, making it impossible for me to see any other color.

And I knew what brought it on. Ever since Rare died, my life seemed to have died with her. And what remained of me was only my body—because my soul died with her.
