PRECIOUS

I halted on my steps, fixed him a look before looking back on the package in his hands.

Leaning on the railing, I watched him walk back to his seat with a smug look on his face. I was really curious to find out what was in the package, and thoughts of returning to my room flew right out the window.

“What's in there, Dad?“ Nate hesitated, his left thumb scratching on his new stubble.

Alpha Rodriguez shrugged. “That's what we are here to find out, right?“ he lifted the package higher, looking under it as if he wanted to see what it was from there.

“Let him open the damn package,” Michelle grumbled impatiently. I shook my head, refusing to reply.

“I'm curious,” Duke murmured but his father made no attempt to answer him. Instead, he brought it down and took a deep breath before moving his hand to the lid of the gift wrapper.
