I looked down hard at the words once again, my brain trying to process what I just read.

How was my gift?

I still couldn't comprehend what was happening. First the attack and now this. Who are they? What could they likely want from us?

“What's in there? You are not saying anything.” Ruby called, and I looked up from the sheet of paper in my hands to her. Her face was clouded with worry and she ran towards me, followed by Richmond.

Without a word, I handed the paper to her. I heard her scream, the paper falling down her hands. Richmond held my gaze and I nodded and pointed at the floor, my hands shaking without control.
