PRECIOUS

My throat suddenly felt so dry that I let out a loud cough and my body shook from the impact. My neck hurt as I turned my head and as I tried going back to my previous position, I felt a hand hold me back and I frowned.

I struggled to get out of his grasp but the hands on my body were strong and firm.

“Shhhh,” I heard him say, and I immediately relaxed. “Relax, else you cause more problems for yourself.”

What was he talking about? I panicked and opened my eyes the next instant. I fluttered my eyelashes— as the blinding light from the window hit my eyes, before squeezing my eyes shut.

I opened them after counting for five seconds and I looked into the eyes of my mate, no one of my mates.
