Chapter 89

Elena was so weak as she looked at the ring on her sister’s finger. She knew that Nicklaus had already asked Sarah to be his wife, and that was the end of her marriage with Nicklaus. She couldn't believe how Nicklaus would move on so quickly to the extent of making Sarah his wife.

“Sa…” She stuttered, glancing at the ring as Sarah smiled widely as she wiggled her hands. “Sarah, what is the meaning of this?” She asked with tears filling her eyes.

“Yes, Nicklaus asked me to be his wife. Isn't it beautiful?” She asked excitedly. Her voice dripped with sarcasm, and she looked at Elena in a hateful way.

“You should be happy I am covering your dirty past and making the family proud after you tried to ruin everything,” Sarah spoke. Her voice was full of hatred, and she mocked Elena.

Tears rolled down Elena’s cheeks, and she couldn't control herself. “How could you do this to me?” she asked, her eyes narrowed, and she figured something out.

“Sarah, did you set me up? She asked with her hands cuffed on the table. “Did you pull this stunt so that you could have Nicklaus to yourself?”

Sarah chuckled loudly and flipped her hair backwards. “What do you think?” she asked. She looked at her hands and kissed her ring. “Well, you can think whatever you want to think. Nicklaus is now mine, and there is nothing anyone wouldn't say about it.” Sarah responded.

Elena felt like giving Sarah a slap on the face, but her hand was cuffed. Just then she knew that she had been set up, and everything Sarah did to prove that she loved her was all a lie.

She narrowed her eyes and sniffled. “Sarah, did you poison me?” she asked. Her mind was telling her a lot of things, and at that point, she couldn't help but ask Sarah.

Sarah couldn't care less about what Elena was asking her. She screeched her brows. “Do you think I am an evil person? You just became so vomitable with your husband,” she paused. “Sorry, ex-husband,” she giggled.

Elena screamed, and one of the wardens walked inside, “Take me out of here. Sarah, you are wicked, and I will make you sorry for everything that you have done to me. You will pay,” she shouted at the top of her voice.

The warden took her back into her cell, and she started weeping uncontrollably. Now everything was beginning to make sense. Since she is pregnant with Nicklaus. He decided to get married so that his father would pass all of his wealth to him.

She realised that they were both wicked, and they would stop at nothing to see that she paid. Now she is paying for something that she had no idea about. She had been so innocent and welcomed them in her matrimonial home, thinking she was being a nice sister and daughter.

Little did she know that they had planned a different thing all alone.

She screamed and cried hard. She didn't know what to do next. She just wished she would die and give up on life. Her world had crumbled, and worst of it all, she would be in jail soon.

Sarah walked out of the police station with a smile on her face. She felt satisfied that she had informed Elena about her progress with Nicklaus. She got into her car and zoomed off to the hospital.

She came back home and stayed with her mother in the garden as they both chatted and laughed. Marina walked around to see if she could hear more news, but they didn't talk about it. They were not stupid enough to do so since Mr. Willajm was in the house.

Elena was silent the whole day, and she would not utter a single word. She cried until her eyes were swollen and she began having hiccups.

Nicklaus came back from work. He went into his penthouse and lay in his bed before sleeping off. Everything has been happening that he didn't know where he would start from.

He just engaged Sarah, and it felt as if his world had ended. He wasn't able to sleep, so he took his sleeping pills. All he thought was about Elena. After some time, he slowly drifted off to sleep.

Sarah changed into her pyjamas and lay on her bed. She had her apartment, but she enjoyed staying in her father's mansion because she felt in charge. She stared at the ceiling and thought about Nicklaus the whole night. She just wished she could be with him and hold him to sleep.

It felt weird, and she needed someone to talk to. She was going, but she noticed her temperature going up. That's when she collapsed on the floor and was covered in darkness.
