Chapter 88

Elena woke up the next day feeling tired and weak. She had not been able to eat anything for two days. It had been hell for her.

It was only Alex who came to see her on the cell. She felt rejected and alone.

It had been the hell for her, and she didn't even know what to do. Alex had brought up all of the cases against her, and he clearly stated all of the things she had been charged with.

Sarah dressed up in the early hours of the morning. Marina walked into her room and said with a serious face, “Good morning, ma'am. I am here to clean your room.". 

Sarah stirred on the bed. She had nightmares. She couldn't sleep properly because of the person whom she had just paid to keep his mouth shut. 

She didn't want anything to ruin her plans, and she was ready to go out of her way to cover her tracks. She was already stressed, and her morning sickness wasn't helping out.

Marina walked into the bathroom. “Ma'am, are you okay?” she asked.

Sarah rinsed her mouth and stood up. She nodded her head. “Yes, just my morning sickness.”

She remembered that she had kept her supplement in her car. 

“Marina, go get me some supplements in my car,” she ordered. 

Marina nodded her head, “Right away, ma'am.” She nodded her head and walked away.

Marina quickly rushed to her office and brought out a hidden recorder. She rushed out to Sarah’s car and planted the recorder in her car. It was thoroughly hidden, and then she grabbed the supplement.

“What kept you?” she asked.

“I’m sorry, ma'am; I slipped on my way to the car,” she spoke.

Sarah looked at her and walked into her room; she noticed that Marina wasn't with a glass of water. “Why didn't you come with a glass of water? How dumb can you be?” Sarah growled

Sarah had her bathed and dressed up. She had been waiting to go to the hospital for some check-ups and start her antenatal classes. Her supplements made her feel better. 

When she walked down for breakfast, she saw Nicklaus and his father in the house. Her eyes widened and she walked forward.

Her father welcomed them, and they walked into the dining area. She remembered when her father invited them for breakfast. 

“Good morning,” she greeted. Her mother came downstairs, and they all had breakfast together. 

After a wonderful breakfast. They were about to leave when Nicklaus brought out a diamond ring.

Sarah’s eyes widened, and she was stunned. She knew what was about to go on, and she started panting. 

Nicklaus looked up at Sarah and she grinned from ear to ear. His father smiled, and her parents were so happy. 

“Sarah, will you marry me?” he asked.

Before thinking twice about it, she giggled and jumped in excitement. “Yes, yes, Nicklaus, I will marry you,” she spoke, and she slid the ring on her finger. 

Nicklaus wasn't excited, but he knew that he had to do it. After putting the ring on her finger, he excised himself and walked out. Hebgit got into his car and zoomed off. 

Sarah didn't care about Nicklaus, but she noticed that he wasn't really happy about it. She showed her parents the ring, and Nicklaus's father was happy about it. He knew that he would have a grandson very soon, and that was what he had been looking for. 

After the little celebration, Sarah got into her car and zoomed off to the street of Los Angeles. She wanted to go to the hospital, but she diverted and went straight to the police station. 

Elena sat with Alex during the visiting roon as they both conversed. “Alex, please help me; I have nobody else but you, and I need to prove my innocence,” she spoke.

“All of the charges against you came with evidence. Elena, can you recall what your activities were like?” he asked.

Alex wanted to know what her schedule was like so that he would know how to defend her and make her cases less. 

After a session with Alex, it was time to leave, and he got up to leave. When Sarah entered the visiting room, Elena was called back.

She smiled at Elena as she sat down. Elena stared at her. She was in awe. She didn't know what had brought Sarah here, and she knew that it wasn't good. 

She looked at Sarah worth hate. “What do you want?” she asked. Her voice was dripping with hate. 

Immediately, Sarah brought out her finger, grinning ear to ear. She raised her finger and showed Elena her ring finger with a wide smile that never left her face. 

Tears gathered in Elena’s eyes, and her heart slammed against her chest. She stood still, and she was frozen.
