Chapter 83

Elena’s POV:

Tears effortlessly rolled down my cheeks. He is not wrong after all. My father might not have mentioned it to me, but I knew he was patiently waiting for me to play my own part in the contracof the marriage.

I have tried very hard to conceive, but it was as if the stress of everything was making all of my efforts in vain.

“And there she goes with her fake tears,” Sarah spoke up. “Oh, don't give me that look. You know exactly what I am talking about,”

“You are a shame to this family and to yourself, Elena. I regret the day I picked you up from the street into this family,” my father spoke.

My eyes widened, and my jaw dropped. I couldn't believe such words would come out of my father's mouth.

I sobbed continuously, and Alex held me in his arms. I have had enough, and I have to say my mind.

“Father, you have always said those words to me. I know that I am not a Williams, and if you knew you would always use this against me, maybe you shouldn't have picked me up from the street,” I shouted.

They were all stunned, and they looked at me with their eyes wide open.

“Yes, it's high time I speak my mind because I am fed up,” I shouted from the top of my house.

“I am fed up,” I repeated. There was silence in the room.

“Why didn't you let me live my life? You always used me as your puppet and always made me work hard without any reward. You know what? I am glad the marriage is over.”

“I have never benefitted from your company. You have always preferred your biological daughter over me; why didn't you just marry her to Nicklaus instead of me? I have dreams, and I am going to start living them,” I shouted.

Immediately, Sarah walked up to me and gave me a daring look. “One more word, and I will give you a resounding slap,” she spoke.

I laughed and wiped my tears. “You are scared that I am telling the truth? Aren't you as lazy as fuck that all you know how to do is make your father's company go bankrupt?” I shouted.

Sarab raised her hands to give me a slap when Alex walked in front and held her hands. “Don't you dare,” he spoke.

I reached out to Alex, “It's fine, Alex. Let her be. I will leave.” I spoke.

I turned to my father, “Maybe you should just marry her off to Nicklaus so that you could save yourself and your family. All of you have been selfish.” I spoke and turned around to leave when the door behind us opened.

Nicklaus walked into the house together with his father. “And that is exactly what we are going to do,” he spoke from the doorway. His voice commanded attention in the room.

“Nicklaus,” I called out. “What are you doing here?” I asked.

Sarah walked up to him and intertwined her hands with him; he wrapped his arms around her.

“What is going on here??” I asked.

Sarah gave me a big smile and giggled. “What do you think is going on here?” she asked excitedly. Her voice was laced with happiness.

“You are welcome, my love,” she said. He nodded his head and smiled.

“Nicklaus, would you explain? What are you talking about? Why are you with Sarah?” I asked, my voice cracking heavily.

Nicklaus walked up to me with Sarah by his side. “Well, since you care to find out?” He spoke and placed his hand on Sarah's abdomen. “Sarah is pregnant with my child, and she is about to become Mrs. Coleman. Something you could not do,” he revealed.

My eyes opened widely, and my jaw dropped. I instantly forgot how to breathe.

I stumbled, almost losing balance and falling to the ground, when Alex reached out to me and held me from losing balance.

I almost collapsed, and my eyes were rolling. I started to feel dizzy, and my breath ceased immediately.

“What did you just say, Nicklaus?” I asked.

How could Sarah be pregnant for Nicklaus?

Sarah walked up to me. “I know this is not the right time, and we were not planning to reveal it to you this way, but you have left us with no choice since you showed up,” she spoke.

I walked up to Nicklaus and said, "Nicklaus, what is she talking about? Tell me it's a prank.” I asked, my voice trembling heavily, and my chest was rising and falling rapidly.

I looked around. My father, my stepmother, and Nicklaus’s father all didn't look stunned. It seemed they had already known about it.

“Nicklaus, is she saying the truth?” I asked, shouting at the top of my voice.

“Nicklaus, answer me. I am asking you a question.

“Yes!” he shouted.
