Chapter 77

Nicklaus's eyes widened, and he stared at the paper. His jaw dropped, and it felt like he was having a nightmare. The test result boldly proved that Sarah was indeed pregnant, but he became even more confused.

He creased his brows and wondered why Sarah was showing him her pregnancy. He didn't quite understand, but he remembered waking up next to her in bed.

He looked at Sarah and spoke up. “How does your pregnancy stop us from pulling out of your father's company?” he asked, fixing his gaze on her and waiting patiently for her response.

Sarah smiled and crossed her hands against her chest. She knew that she had just won a jackpot and that she would become Nicklaus’s wife. She was also glad that she came at the right time when his father was present.

“Well, Mr. Nicklaus Coleman, I am pregnant for you,” she spilt.

Nicklaus's eyes widened, and his father looked at Sarah with his eyes widening and his jaw dropping. He didn't understand what was going on, and he needed more clarity.

“What do you mean? You are pregnant for my son,” he said while standing up. His eyes never left Sarah.

Sarah smiled. “I know I shouldn't be proud to say this, but Nicklaus and I were involved in a one-night stand a few weeks ago,” she confessed, while frowning her face and feeling down.

Nicklaus was shocked; all he knew then was that he woke up naked in bed with Sarah by his side. He never imagined that they truly made love.

Nicklaus’s father turned to him and said, “Nick, is she telling the truth? Were you involved in a one-night stand with her?” he quarried.

Nicklaus looked at his father and nodded his head. “Yes, Father,” she said, feeling disappointed.

Immediately, Sarah opened her mouth to speak when Nicklaus cut her off. “Sarah, please leave my office; I need to speak with my father alone.” Nicklaus spoke, but she was reluctant, and it got him pissed off. “I said leave my office. I will send for you when I need you,” he shouted.

“Fine, easy,” Sarah spoke and stood up from her seat, “keep the result. I have another copy,” she said, and she walked out of the office feeling satisfied.

She knew her mission had been accomplished, and very soon she would become the new Mr. Coleman. She walked down the lobby in confidence, and her presence commanded attention from everybody.

Nicklaus sat on his chair with his hand under his chin. “Nicklaus, how could you get in bed with Sarah? His father asked him.

Nicklaus exhaled and closed his eyes, slowly opening them. “Father, I had no idea what happened that night. I was too drunk; all I could remember was waking up next to her in bed,” he explained.

“Well, she is pregnant,” his father announced, taking his seat back.

“Dad,” Nicklaus tried to say, but his father cut him off.

“There is no but, Nicklaus. It has been proven that she is pregnant. We have to get married to her as soon as possible. She is carrying your heir,” he said.

He didn't want Nicklaus to say no. He had always wanted a grandchild and an heir for his life to continue.

Nicklaus's eyes widened; he couldn't believe what his father had just said. He and his father wanted an heir badly, but he didn't know what to do.

He rubbed his hands through his hair. Deep down, he wished it was Elena who was pregnant for him so he could spear her, but there was nothing that could be done anymore.

He knew he had to divorce Elena and make Sarah his new bride as soon as possible so that he would perform his fatherly duties and his support.

“Father, I will only believe when I take her to the hospital, and this confirms that she is indeed pregnant,” Nicklaus spoke.

He narrowed his eyes and looked at the whole city of Los Angeles; he couldn't believe that he had sex with Sarah. Deep down, he felt a little bad for Elena. He wondered how heartbroken she would be if she heard about it.

He exhaled and closed my eyes for some time. If this pregnancy meant my father handing over the rest of the enterprises, then he would do it.

He wondered how he would do his fatherly duties when the baby came into the world, and at the same time, he felt really guilty.
