Chapter 181

Sarah’s POV:

“Are you sure of what you are telling me? I need you to get me more information,” I said.

“Maam, I can't get my information out of that right now. It turns out that it is between Mr. Sam and Mr. Coleman. But it can only be one thing. Mr. Sam is a divorce lawyer,” he spoke.

“Get your hands on anything as soon as possible and let me know. I will be waiting.”

I had been feeling uneasy lately, and I knew that things weren't right. I had ordered the boys to attack Nicklaus penthouse and search for anything that they could get their hands on.

I had also broke into his bedroom to see if I could get my hands on any evidence to get rid of it, but I couldn't find a single piece of evidence.

Does this mean that Nicklaus has no idea about the missing file in my father’s house?

I exhaled deeply as I walked around the room. “What if he doesn't know anything about this? Why had he been acting strange then?”

Immediately, my phone buzzed, and I reached for it. It was a picture of Nicklaus and Alex having a launch.

I dialled a number, “Black Wolf, you should raid the penthouse now. This is the only time we have left. Keep one of your men on standby at the restaurant to see if he would be able to get any information from Alex and Nicklaus. I need to know what they are up to,” I spoke.

“Right away, ma'am,” he spoke, and I hung up.

What could be going on between Alex and Nicklaus? Don't they know that Elena’s house burnt down to ashes in Oregon, and she was in the fire?

I have not heard anything from her since then. She should be dead.

“Something doesn't sit right, and I will stop at nothing until I get my hands on every piece of information. I need to know what Nicklaus is up to.” I spoke out loud.

My phone buzzed with a call, and I picked it up without looking at the caller ID. “Found something already?” I asked.

“I'm glad I found you, Sarah.”

I glanced at the caller ID immediately. “Who are you, and what do you want from me?” I asked.

“Don't you recognise my voice?”

“I do not have time for shitty plays right now. Stop calling my line,” I warned and was about to cut the call when I heard his voice again.

“How is my daughter doing?” he asked.

My heart slammed hard against my chest. “Who are you?” I asked.

I heard a loud laugh on the other end of the line, “You clearly don't recognise me? How would you when you paid those little touts to get rid of me?” he spoke.

“Zane?” I asked, my voice trembling slightly.

“It's me, Sarah. Do you think you can get rid of me and keep my daughter away from me? I will kill you this time around. Just keep watching your back,” he spoke.

“Amelia is not your daughter. Get that into your head,” I shouted over the line, and tears streamed down my eyes.

I threw the phone to the ground and smashed it repeatedly.

I tired around, and my heart skipped a beat to see Nicklaus standing in the doorway.

“Ni-Nicklaus, how long have you been standing here? Are you alright?”

He gave me a daring look as he tightened his hand and squeezed the paper in his hand. “So its true, Sarah,” he spoke sternly.

I chuckled lightly and tried to hide my nervousness, but I failed miserably. “What is true? What are you talking about, Nicklaus?“ I asked

“So it is true. Amelia is not my child,” he spoke out loud.

“Nicklaus, what do you mean?”

“Don't tell me that, Sarah. Answer me, and do not lie to me. Is Amelia my daughter or not?” he asked.

“She is your daughter,” I shouted.

He looked at me for a while; his eyes were blazing red. I managed to catch my breath until he walked up to me and held my neck; he pushed me back against the wall.

“For the last time, Sarah,” he spoke.

“Nick... Nicklaus, you are chocking me.” I cried out.

“Answer the damn question. Stupid. Is Amelia my daughter?” He shouted.

“Nickluas,” I pleaded as he began pressing harder. I couldn't breathe anymore, and I pleaded.

"Please, you are hurting me,” I begged.

“I will kill you with my hands, and I do not mind going to jail for the rest of my life,” he shouted.

“She is not your daughter,” I shouted.

Nicklaus paused; tears rolled down from his eyes, and he slowly removed his hands from my neck. I pulled away, and I fell to the ground. I was coughing uncontrollably as I tried to catch my breath.

“How could you? So you are behind everything that has been going on? I was a fool. You betrayed your own sister, Sarah.” He spoke as tears rolled down his cheeks.

“Nicklaus please. I love you. I just wanted you to love me back.” I was pleased while crying hard.

“I can never love you back,” he shouted and walked around the room. He picked up a file in the doorway and handed it over to me.

“This is the divorce papers; you have to sign here right now or I will strangle you to death,” he warned.

“Nicklaus, don't do this to me. This is humiliating,” I pleaded.

“Before I come back tonight, I want this divorce paper signed,” he shouted and walked away.

“No,” I screamed as I cried my eyes out. I heard the sound of a car engine leaving the house, and then I reached for my phone.

I dialled a number with my hands trembling.

“Nicklaus just left this mansion right now. I don't care what you are doing. Make sure he crashes hard.”
