Chapter 177

Sarah’s POV:

“Well, madam Sarah. Mr. Coleman had reopened the case again. He is so serious about it. He is working hand in hand with the investigators,” Nicklaus's lawyer spoke.

“Get me enough information as soon as possible. Get me everything you can lay your hands on before tomorrow afternoon,” I spoke and hung up.

My heart was pounding fast in my chest, and I found it hard to catch my breath. My eyes widened in disbelief, and I was even more confused than before.

“Nicklaus took the files from the study. How did he manage to do that?” I muttered silently to myself; there was a calculative look on my face as I tried to process this information.

Who would have informed Nicklaus about the file? It couldn't be my father. It had to be one of the workers in the house. The two cleaners. Yes, they must know something about this.

I sat in the room feeling uneasy and confused about the whole drama going on. If Nicklaus tries to take up this case again, he might find out the truth. I am in big trouble. What do I do? I asked myself as I paced around the room tirelessly.

I had to take my bath and let the hot water calm my tense muscles. I stayed in the bathtub and got a few minutes trying to calm my mind and come up with a plan.

Nicholas must have gone through that file, which is why he is reopening the case. I have to stop him. I have to find a way to stop him.

I freshened up in some comfortable pyjamas and stood at my window. I watched the sky. I needed to act fast because Nicklaus was smart and he could be 1 step ahead of me. I can't let him do that. He would ruin me completely.

I heard noises downstairs, so I peered through the window to see Nicklaus holding a box as he entered his car. I narrowed my eyes and wondered where he was going by this time of the night.

“What are you up to this time around, Nicklaus?” I asked with a calculative look on my face.

I must retrieve that file from him. Something important is in that box. I remember seeing that strange box with Marina when she was in the house.

My heart slammed hard against my chest. Could it be the same box? How did he get his hands on that? I thought we burnt Marina and her belongings.

“Whatever is in there, I have to get a hold of it. I will stop at nothing to do that.” I muttered silently as I watched him leave.

I reached for my phone and called my boys. After a few rings, the call was answered.

“I've got another job for you, black wolf,” I spoke.

“Right away, Sarah. You can count on me and my boys as long as you have the money,” he spoke on the other end of the line. “Who is the next target?” he asked.

“Nicklaus Coleman,” I spoke.

“What?” he asked.

“Don't ask me questions, and do as I say. You and your boy have to act right now. He just left the house right now. I need you to follow him up. Call me when you find out his destination, and I will tell you what to do. Go prepared,” I spoke.

“Sarah, Nicholas is heavily protected. How do we get to do this?” He asked, and I could tell he was nervous.

“Just follow my orders and you will be rewarded,” I spoke up.

“Right away. I will keep in touch,” he said, and I hung up the call.

I walked around the room; my blood was boiling, and I couldn't control my anger. “That bastard Nicklaus. I need to lay my hands on the box,” I growled.

It was already midnight, and I sat on my bed. I had been so restless, and I waited for the boy's call. Just then, my phone rang, and I picked it up immediately.

“We have found him. He is in one of his mansions,” they spoke.

“Fine. I would like you to watch him closely. You can't go in there right now. He will be out there in the morning; make sure you don't lose track of him,” I warned.

“Right away,” they said, and I hung up immediately.

My phone buzzed immediately, and I picked it up. “What again?” I asked.

“He just zoomed off again,” they reported.

“Follow him then; go with him. I need to know his whereabouts.

I was on my bed and slowly drifted to sleep, but I tossed on the bed. I felt uneasy, and I couldn't fall asleep.
