Chapter 173

Anna woke up on a Saturday morning feeling hurt and sad. It had been days, and she had not heard from William. Since she told him that she was pregnant, she had not set her eyes on him.

She got up from the bed and freshened up after her morning throw-up. The pregnancy symptoms were becoming obvious, and she noticed the changes in her body.

She picked up the telephone to reach out to Emily, but it was not reachable. She narrowed her eyes. “What could be going on? Is Emily alright? I should go check on her at her place. She has a lot to tell her,” she said.

She dressed up in blue denim jeans and a crop top. She brushed my hair and backed it into a ponytail, and she used makeup to conceal my eye bags.

She stepped out of the house and stopped a taxi. She got inside the taxi. “Good morning, to the Robinson’s Estate,” Anna said, her voice barely above a whisper.

The trip to the house was taking forever. She couldn't wait to see Emily. She needed someone to talk to. To cry and to vent.

The taxi arrived at the estate, and she dropped at the gate. “Thank you,” she said, and paid for the taxi. She stepped out of the car and walked to the gate, but she was refused entry.

“Good morning, please; I would like to see Emily,” she said with a smile on her face.

The security guards, who were dressed in black and were having imposed looks, stood in the way. “You can't go in there; we are just following orders from Miss Emily,” he spoke.

She narrowed her eyes as she tried to explain the situation. She peeped from the iron gate to see a lot of cars parked in the compound. It seemed like there was a party on the estate.

A car stopped by the gate, and the back window was whined down. It revealed Williams and his mother in the back seat. Anna’s face lightened up.

“Williams. I haven't heard from you in days; where have you been?” she asked.

Williams didn't say a word; his face was fixed on the other side of the window. His mother quickly opened the door and walked out of the car.

She walked to Anna, and Anna watched her. Williams's mother opened her purse and brought out a bunch of dollars from it. Anna watched in silence as Williams's mother stretched her to give Anna the money. “Take this and get out of our lives,” she spoke sternly.

Anna narrowed her eyes and shook her head. “Ex... Excuse me, ma'am, I love your son, and we are expecting a baby together.

Before she could say another word, Williams's mother slapped Anna hard on the face. She threw the bundle of months on her feet and gave her a stern look.

“Get rid of the bastard in there. Williams is getting married to Emily today; if I were you, I would take this money and vanish because Williams and Emily will never be able to set their eyes on you again.”
