Chapter 164

Elena’s POV:

Beep beep beep

I heard the sound of a beeping monitor while I lay on the bed. I slowly blinked my eyes and opened my eyes to the sound of the beep when I saw myself in the hospital bed.

I narrowed my eyes and looked down to see Wave seated beside me. His hands were gently on mine, and he looked at me intently. A little smile appeared on his face.

“Mummy! Mummy! You're awake!” he shouted as his eyes lit up. “Aunty Zoey. Mummy is awake.” He shouted, and immediately, the door opened, and Zoey stepped inside the room.

The room was decorated with flowers and balloons. I was in awe. “Hello Elena,” Zoey said as she walked in with a smile on her face. “You gave us a scare,” she said. “How do you feel?”

“I was also scared. How are you doing?” I asked; my voice was a little hoarse from dehydration. My smile was weak.

“I'm fine; we are doing fine,” she replied.

I adjusted myself and sat upright. “My baby boy, are you doing fine? Hope you we rent hurt?” I asked, my eyes scanning his whole body.

He nodded his head. “I'm fine, mummy,” he said.

Just then the door was slightly opened, and Sam walked in with a bouquet in his hands. I smiled warmly, and she walked to me.

“Good morning, Elena. It's a good thing that you are awake. How are you feeling today?” He asked, fixing his eyes on me.

“I am fine.” Thank you, Sam. Alex also walked in, and Zoey stood by his side. We chatted and chuckled when the door was swung open.

My eyes widened when it fell on Nicklaus. He stood there watching me. My heart skipped a bit.

“Elena, are you alright? I came as soon as I heard,” he said and walked to me when Alex stood in front of him, “why are you here?” Alex growled.

“She needs to rest. Why don't you make things easier for yourself and go back to where you came from?” Alex spoke again, and his jaw clenched.

“Who the hell do you think you are to be giving me orders?” Nicklaus responded; his voice was getting deep, and it looked like he was about to lose his cool. I know Nicholas too well.

“Elena’s business is none of your business,” Alex snarled; his voice was stern.

“Fuck off, man, my business with Elena is not of your concern too,” he said and wanted to walk towards me when Alex stopped him.

They looked like they were about throwing punches at each other, and I couldn't take the drama anymore.

“Enough! That's enough. Alex, it's fine. Let him,” I said.

Nicklaus rushed to my bedside, and he rubbed my hair, “Elena. How are you doing? Are you good?” He asked with a worried tone.

His eyes fell on Wave, “hello wave. How are you doing? Do you feel good?” he asked.

Wave nodded his head. “Yes, I was so scared,” he said.

Nicklaus opened his arms, gave a wave a tight hug, and ran his hands through his hair. “It's going to be just fine; everything will be fine.”

I looked at everyone in the room as we exchanged eye contact. Everybody noticed the bond between Nicklaus and Wave. It was too obvious to ignore.
