Chapter 163

Sarah’s POV:

After my mother hung up on me, I decided to call her back, but nobody was picking up. I called the house, and one of the maids answered the phone.

“Where is my mother? What could have happened?” I wondered as my eyes darted around the room. I hope she wasn't caught. I thought to myself as I called my father’s mansion.

“I want to speak to my mother right now,” I ordered.

“Mr. Coleman, Mr. Williams just had a heart attack. He had been taken to the hospital,” the maid responded urgently.

My eyes widened, and the phone dropped from my hands to the bed.

My jaw dropped, and I didn't know what to say. I hurriedly grabbed my keys and stormed out of the house. I knew exactly the hospital that they would be, so I zoomed off.

While on the way, I could not help but ask myself multiple questions. Why would my father have a heart attack? I had dinner with him, and he was doing just fine. What could be going on?

My hands were trembling, and I was already feeling cold. I just hoped that he was okay, and it was nothing serious as I drove through the streets of Los Angeles.

After what felt like forever, I arrived at the hospital. I rushed to the ward and hurriedly opened the door. My eyes fell on him as I saw him lying helplessly on the bed.

My mother turned to look at me with teary eyes. “Sarah,” she called with a trembling voice.

“Mother,” I responded and walked up to her, wrapping my arms around her. She sobbed as she held me.

“It's fine, mother. All is going to be alright.” I said, trying to be strong for her and for myself. I didn't want to ask her what triggered his attack because it would only cause her to weep more.

I pulled away and fixed my eyes on my father, and my eyes fell on the door as it was swung open. The doctor walked in, and I rushed to the doctor.

“Doctor, how is he doing? Is he going to be fine?” I asked, and my voice was filled with worry.

He exhaled deeply, “Well, we have managed to stabilise him even though he was brought in a little late. We need to keep him under observation and run more tests, but he is too weak right now. Let's just hope it does lead to a stroke,” the doctor said.

I felt heartbroken, and I pressed my lips into a thin line, trying to control my emotions.

“Please do whatever you have to keep him alive. I need my father alive and healthy,” I spoke with my voice cracking.

“He will be alright. We will do our best,” he assured me.

I turned to my mom, and she wrapped her arms around me tightly. I managed to stay strong for her. I refused to leave my father’s side, and I sat beside him.

“You will be fine, Daddy,” I said, forcing myself to smile.

After a while, my mother walked up to me. “You should go home and take care of my granddaughter. I will stay here with him. It's almost dawn. Get some rest,” she said.

“Please do as I have said. Tomorrow you can spend all day with him.”

I nodded my head and stood up, grabbing my bag. I kissed my father on the forehead and walked out of the room. It was a slow and silent drive back to the penthouse.

I felt so sad and alone as I drove in the dark. After a while, I arrived at the mansion and walked upstairs. I felt exhausted. I just hope that everything will be alright.

I peeped through my daughter’s room to see her sleeping soundly, and I walked to the room hoping to break the news to Nicklaus, but he was nowhere to be found.

“Nicklaus, Nicklaus,” I called, but there wasn't a response. “I thought he was in his room,” I wondered.

“Whatever,” I said and walked into the bathroom.

I just hope my father is healthy and feeling alright before the sun rises. I had to control myself not to eat breakfast, so I had a hot shower and tried to get some rest before the sun came out.
