Nicklaus’s POV:
I wrapped my arms around Wave, and I felt something move inside of me. This is my first time being in close contact with him, and it felt like I had known him forever. I couldn't explain why I felt so attached to him already.
I pulled away, and I noticed Elena’s facial expression. She acted nervous and quickly removed her eyes away from me. I was keen on staying away from her, but not after this. She looked like she was hiding something from me, and aside from that, she needed me.
I need to stay by her side and protect her in every way that I can. I am ready to make up for lost time. I have not been able to protect her in the past, and now I am ready to do that. This made me rethink: could it be that Sarah had a hand in what happened? I asked myself, but I tried to brush it off again and focus on Elena.
I don't mind if her child’s father, Alex, is here staring at me. His eyes bored into mine. If he loved her enough and claimed to protect her, he would have married her a long time ago and made her his.
“Elena, please return home with me at least until you recover. You could stay in one of my penthouses.” I gathered the courage to speak after thinking about it for long.
Elena choked and looked at me, "Nicklaus, not now. Please,” she responded, shaking her head.
Alex walked beside me, and I turned to him. He gave me a daring look. Our eyes were fixed on each other. This time around, I am ready to fight with all that I have to win Elena, and I will make her mine. Even if it means me losing myself and fighting the whole world.
I could feel Alex growling inside, wanting to fight, but I am not doing that with him right here. We will settle our scores, but not in the hospital.
“She will go nowhere with you; learn to know your place, Mr. Coleman,” Alex spoke up, his voice filled with hate. 3
Immediately, Zoey held Wave’s hands. “Let's go get yoghurt,” she said, and they walked out of the room. Sam quietly followed from behind.
This Alex guy is claiming to be tough, but I am ready to put him into place today. I stood up and faced him.
“What do you want from me, man?” I growled. “You should speak up,” I said.
“Elena will go nowhere with you. Not after everything you had done to her,” Alex responded.
I sighed, “I know I was wrong, and I realise my mistakes. I want to make things right between her, and it would be better if you stayed out of this. I don't care if you are the father of her child. I just want my family back!” I shouted.
Alex's eyes widened, and he swallowed hard; he didn't say a word. The room was quiet.
“You guys, not now, please,” Elena said, but Alex and I kept facing each other.
"You also wanted to claim a child that you didn't raise; how pathetic,” Alex chuckled lightly.
“Don't get in the way again or you will regret it; you don't want to start a fight,” I smirked and turned around to face Elena.
He grabbed me by the collar, and I turned around and did the same. I won't give him a chance. I have been waiting for this fight for years, and I will not miss it now.
“Stop it! Stop!” Elena shouted, and we pulled away from each other, our eyes still fixed on each other, and I bit my lips. I would have loved to give him a very nice beating. He would regret ever trying to stand up to me. I will put him down where he deserves to be.
“Alex started the fight. He wouldn't let me speak,” I said, and she stared at me.
“Nicklaus, why are you even here? You shouldn't be here,” she said. I felt weak as she spoke.
“Elena, don't you want me here? I want to make up for the lost time.” I said, but Elena didn't say a word. It felt as if she was hiding something from me.
“Elena, please say something. Don't you want me around?” I asked.
She looked away and ignored me. “You heard her, mate. It's time for you to leave,” Alex said, walking back to me.
“I am willing to make Elena my wife again and make things right. If you are here and defend her like a lion all the time, why haven't you gotten married to her?” I said. I was already pissed; my voice was easing in anger.
“Alex is not the father of my son, Nicklaus. Stop saying that,” she shouted.
“Who is the father, Elena? What are you hiding from me?”
There was silence, and I looked at her, waiting for her to speak, but she said a word. Immediately, the door swung open, and a wave ran in with the doctor coming from behind.
“Mummy! We got ice cream instead of yoghurt,” Wave shouted. I looked at him and noticed he had deep blue eyes like mine.
The doctor approached me with a smile and said, “Hello Elena. How are you feeling right now?” she asked.
I scoffed. “I feel great, but I am tired of staying in bed all day,” Elena responded.
“From the test result, you are fine and free to go. Just stick to your medications, okay,” the doctor said.
“Thank you, doctor,” I said, and the doctors
walked out of the room.
I turned to look at Elena, still waiting for an explanation. “If Alex isn't the one then who is?” I asked, but I reduced the tone of my voice to avoid being heard.
Elena’s POV:“If Alex isn't the one, then who is?” Nicklaus asked, his voice was deep and barely above a whisper. My heart skipped a bit, and I blinked repeatedly, feeling nervous, “Nicklaus, this is not what I need right now, and I don't think I should be having this conversation with you. It's my private life,” I spoke up, my voice rising, which caught everybody’s attention. His facial expression softened, “I’m sorry, Elena.” he apologised.“I need to get out of here,” I said and tried to place my feet on the floor. Alex and Zoey walked up to me. “I have made arrangement for us to return to LA. You all need to rest,” Alex said and Zoey nodded her head.“But…” I tried to ask questions but Zoey spoke up, “its fine Elena. We will stay at Alex’s house. With what had happened, you need some time to yourself and besides the doctor advised that we get enough rest,” she said.I smiled at them, “thank you so much,” I said and hugged them. Zoey and Alex hugged each other warmly and they bo
Nicklaus’s POV:I arrived back at the house, and the driver brought the car to a stop. One of my bodyguards opened the car door for me, and I hurriedly walked inside. I walked up to my room and shut the door.I was so upset that I couldn't even explain why I was angry. I had to leave the house at midnight to see Elena in Oregon when I heard the news. I couldn't help but panic while on my way there. It's a good thing she is safe and sound. What was I thinking by asking her to return to my house when I was fully aware that she would decline? I was ready to give Alex a taste of his own medicine. He never seems to stay out of my way.All this while, I thought he was in a relationship with Elena. It is a huge relief that they are not together, but I couldn't help but wonder what Elema must be hiding. Why isn't she still in touch with her baby daddy? Did he also dump her for someone else? He wouldn't do that to two friends. This is not good. What could Elena not be telling me? She is defin
The hospital door was swung open, while Mr. Williams lay in his bed looking pale and weak with his wife and Sarah by his side. Nurse Grey entered the room with a clipboard in her hands; her eyes scanned the chart as she stepped in, standing beside me, Williams. She was about to speak when her eyes fell on Mr. Williams; her eyes widened. The clipboard she was holding slipped from her fingers and dropped on the floor, which caused all eyes to be on her because of the sudden noise. Sarah turned around and narrowed her eyes, looking at the nurse, “How clumsy. You look like you have just seen a ghost, hello? We are humans,” she said rudely. “I'm so sorry, my apologies. I guess I was too distracted,” she apologised and went ahead to check Mr. Williams's vitals. Mr. William’s eyes opened in his weak state.Mr. Williams eyes were fixed on the nurse, and he didn't say a word. He was caught off guard. Her dark brown eyes only reminded him of the past. Their eyes met again, and they locked.H
Nicklaus’s POV:I drove the car on the highway at full speed to Mr. Williams's house. I waited for the right moment when Mrs. Williams and Sarah were in the hospital to carry out Mr. Williams's instructions. I have a feeling that things are beginning to get interesting. I didn't have enough time on my side. I had to act according to what Mr. Williams told me, and I needed to make it smooth. After what felt like forever, I arrived at the mansion and brought the car to a stop.“Good day, Mr. Nicklaus,” the butler, Mr. James, greeted as he approached me. I nodded my head in acknowledgement as I got out of the car and walked inside the house. The butler followed me from behind, and I noticed his presence with my side-eye.I stopped on my track and turned to him, waiting for him to speak. “Mr. Williams is in the hospital. None of his family members are at home,” he spoke.“I am aware of that. I was sent here by Mr. Williams. Now you will excuse me,” I said and walked into the hallway.I
Elena’s POV: I ate dinner with Zoey, Wave, Sam, and Alex in the penthouse. The house was filled with excitement, and we all laughed. Sam had decided to stay in Los Angeles and spend some time with us. Alex had been so kind. The whole environment brought back old memories. “Attention everyone,” I spoke, and they all turned their eyes on me. “I don't want to say much, but I want to thank each and every one of you for everything that you have done for me and my son. You all are my real family, and I would never trade that for everything,”Zoey walked to me and wrapped around me. Wave ran to us, and Sam and Alex walked up to us. “We love you,”I felt very happy and relieved. These are the people who make me feel happy, and nothing else in the works matters. I turned to wave, “Wave, you need to go to bed; it's late.” I spoke, and I walked him to his room. Sam also decided to take his leave to his hotel. After reading some bedtime stories to my son, I walked to the sitting room to see
Nicklaus’s POV:“Your father is on his sick bed, and he needs you.” I spoke up; my voice was barely audible. Immediately, Elena stood still in her tracks. She backed me, and I waited for her to turn around and come to me. There was silence in the room. She remained motionless. After a few seconds, Elena continued walking out on me. “Elena,” I called softly. My facial expression was filled with concern. She turned to me and walked up to me with tears filling her eyes. “He is sick, and he needs me. Why does he need me? He can do without me!” she shouted. I could feel the pain in her voice. I tried to speak, but Elena stopped me. “Nicklaus, you, and my family turned your backs against me when I needed you people the most, all for what? For power, for wealth? You have it now. What more do you want from me?” She asked, her voice raising, causing attention everywhere.“I had nowhere to go. I had nothing; big nobody cared about me. My father chased me out of his house after you chased me
Mr. Williams’ POV:I blink my eyes open in the early hours of the morning when the door is slid open. Nurse Grey walked inside, holding a clipboard in her hand. She checked the monitor and also the drip. I fixed my eyes on her as I watched her quietly, letting her do her job. She didn't say a word, and she avoided eye contact with me. I felt some type of attachment. It was as if I had known her from the past, and she reminded me of Elena so much. She turned around and was about to leave the room when I mentioned a name that had been on my mind.“Anna!”She stood frozen in her tracks as the name echoed in the room. My heart slammed hard against my chest, and I was so stunned.I could remember her from the past. I smiled a little as tears were almost gathering in my eyes when she turned to her heels and walked away. I lay on the bed as tears began to fill my eyes; she was the one. It was Anna; I was right all along. I thought to myself. She looks so much like Elena. That's the reason
28 years ago.Anna woke up on a Saturday morning feeling hurt and sad. It had been days, and she had not heard from William. Since she told him that she was pregnant, she had not set her eyes on him.She got up from the bed and freshened up after her morning throw-up. The pregnancy symptoms were becoming obvious, and she noticed the changes in her body. She picked up the telephone to reach out to Emily, but it was not reachable. She narrowed her eyes. “What could be going on? Is Emily alright? I should go check on her at her place. She has a lot to tell her,” she said. She dressed up in blue denim jeans and a crop top. She brushed my hair and backed it into a ponytail, and she used makeup to conceal my eye bags. She stepped out of the house and stopped a taxi. She got inside the taxi. “Good morning, to the Robinson’s Estate,” Anna said, her voice barely above a whisper. The trip to the house was taking forever. She couldn't wait to see Emily. She needed someone to talk to. To cry a
