Chapter 131

“Well, you should know that your dad is always watching you from afar. Now I am your mother and your father,” I spoke.

Jason was asking more questions about his dad as the day passed by. I could not understand why he always brought up the topic.

“My friends in school always talk about their fathers and how he would be okay with them, and I do not have any story to tell. Does that mean that I do not have a father?” he asked.

I paused for a while. I didn't know how I answered such questions. I knew something like this would happen someday.

At that moment, all I could do was lean in close to him and wrap my arms around him. I couldn't lie to him, and I could not tell him the truth.

“Your father is coming soon, but you know that you always have me. Whenever they talk about their fathers, talk about me and the adventures we had done together,” I said.

He nodded his head and lay on my arms. The question about his father was becoming more obvious.

I have always tried my best to be a father and a mother to him. I want him never to feel empty without a father. I showed him so much love and made sure that he never lacked so he wouldn't be missing a figure in his life.

I brushed his hair and leaned in to kiss him. “Jason, my darling. Always know that I am your mother and your father and that your father will come soon,” I said, brushing his hair and comforting him.

His blue eyes, which were the exact copy of Nicklaus, sparkled, and I couldn't help but think about him.

“Don't let people's words bring you down. I am you everything,” I said, comforting him.

He let out a wide grin, “Yes, mummy. You are my everything,” he spoke, and I pulled my son into a tight hug before the alarm went off. It is time to get ready for school.

“Let's get ready for school. Would you like to have pancakes today?” I asked as we walked to the bathroom.

 "Yes, Mother. I love pancakes.”

We get into the bathroom, and I help Wave wash up and put on his clothes. I went by the house and prepared pancakes and some fresh orange juice. I also left some for Zoey so that she could eat some when she woke up before leaving.

I walked Jason to school, which was just a stone's throw away.

He turned to me as we stopped in front of the gate. "Mama, I love you,” he said, wrapping his little arms around me for a hug.

I squatted down and held him tight. “I love you too, my baby,” I said, and I headed to school for my final exams.

As the day went by, I could think about how my life would change in a few weeks. We will be having the time of our lives.

I could remember how I was humiliated and treated like a nobody by people who were my family. I have definitely come a long way, and I am even more proud of myself.

I can proudly say that I am glad I felt Los Angeles, and I never had any regret.

Zoey had been my backbone, and she always made sure that I was never alone in this. No matter the hurt and heartbreak, Nicklaus gave me my baby Jason. It doesn't matter if he lives without a father. I will never get tired of proving that I can be a father and a mother at the same time.
