New Beginnings
Elena Williams woke up to the sound of her alarm ringing loudly. She let out a huge sigh and reached for the alarm clock before turning it off.
This is not how I planned to start my day. I had planned to start my day feeling energetic, but it was quite the opposite.
She lay on her back, laid on her back, placed her hand on her forehead, and let out a frustrated groan. She felt tired and exhausted, and she didn't even know how she would get up from her bed into the bathroom.
Just then she heard a knock on her door: “Wake up, Elena. It's your interview this morning,” Zoey shouted outside the room.
Elena rolled out of bed when she realised that it was getting late already and walked into the bathroom behind her as she felt the cool times on the floor.
She quickly had her bath and changed into a cooperate outfit. She packed her hair into a sleek bun and applied a little bit of make-up to frame her face.
She stepped outside the front pouch and inhaled deeply as the sweet morning breeze caressed her skin.
Waving at the taxi heading toward her direction, she arranged the strands of her hair as the taxi pulled up in front of her.
“Good morning, Maam,” the taxi ma'am greeted as she settled into the car.
“Good morning,” she responded with a smile on her face.
“It's a beautiful day, isn't it?” he asked.
"Yes, it is. I can feel it.” She smiled. “Please take me to Xavier restaurant,” she said.
The drive to the restaurant was a long one, and Elena couldn't help but admire the peaceful and calm city of Oregon. She had just been hired because of her good VC, and the work was worth it because the lay is good.
When they arrived at the restaurant after a few minutes, Elena reached for her purse for some cash and handed it over to the taxi driver.
“Thank you, she said and stepped out of the car.
She walked into the restaurant, filling a mic of nervousness and anticipation. It was her first day at work, and she didn't know what to do.
She walked into the staff room and was greeted by Mrs. Xavier. “Good morning, Elena. You are welcome. It's so good to see you.” she greeted.
“Good morning, Mrs. Xavier; thank you for having me and giving me this job. It means a lot to me,” she said.
“You are welcome, Elena. Today would be your orientation, and you can start right away.
Elena let out a huge grin as soon as the boss spoke. Finally, something was going smoothly.
“Thank you so much, Mrs. Xavier; I promise you will not regret hiring me,” she said, grinning ear to ear.
The orientation started, and Elena paid attention very well. She felt like the happiest person on the planet and was ready to all over again. She felt determined.
Thinking about this job was the start of something good. It would be a great way to start this new life.
Sarah blinked her eyes open as she felt the morning sun rays on her. She had never felt this good and satisfied. She is now living her life as Mrs. Sarah Coleman, and that alone is her greatest achievement. Of course, she works up to an empty bed. Nicklaus was nowhere to be found; she could care less about it, but it was slowly getting to her.Nicklaus had been out of time for weeks, taking care of business, and he was happy to be away. He had never been happy since he got married to Sarah. He could not wait for his child to be born; maybe that would give him a reason to be happy again.Sarah’s phone buzzed, and she reached for it. Seeing the caller ID, she knew it was something serious and picked up the call.“Have you found him?” she asked, her voice deep. “Yes, ma'am. He is in the warehouse,” the voice game from the other end of the line.“Good, I will be there soon; just make sure you do your job. Keep an eye on him.” She spoke and hung up. She looked at the empty bed and let o
The drive home was a silent one, and I couldn't wait to get home. I felt satisfied with what I had done, but I had been feeling angry all day.Lying to everyone about Nicklaus taking care of me was getting on my nerves. I wanted us to be together always just like he and Elena were but he doesn't seem to be looking in my direction.I don't even know where he is, what he is doing right now, or when he will come back home. Is he even in the country? It felt sad that I had to be alone in this pregnancy journey. I can't take it anymore, I must do something to make Nicklaus come back home. I hurriedly did a U-turn and diverted to my mother's house. I had to let everything out. I know that she would have a way to sort this out.”The iron gate was opened, and I drove inside the building. I parked close to the front pouch and quickly went to the rooftop where my mother would be.I walked to her, putting on a long face. “What's wrong, Sarah? Don't you feel good?” She asked, her eyes filled wit
Sarah’s POV:I slowly regained consciousness and blinked my eyes open after rubbing them a few times. I saw my Nicklaus standing in front of me, and he gently held my arms. I smiled weakly and turned to the other side of the room to see my parents standing beside me."Oh, my baby,” my mother said and gently squeezed my hands. “I'm glad you are awake. You gave us a scare,” my mother said. Her blue eyes sparkled, and I could feel her excitement. My father smiled at me and kissed me on the forehead. “I'm glad you are awake,” he spoke.I nodded my head and smiled at them. “Thank you, everyone, for being here for me,” I said weakly.Just then, the door was opened, and the doctor came. It was the doctor from the morning who had injected me earlier. “Good morning, Sarah, How are you feeling today?” she said with a smile on her face.“Good morning, doctor; I feel the way better.” I spoke weakly. She walked close to me and checked the drip. Nicklaus's eyes were on me the whole time, and I
5 years later. Elena’s pov. “Mummy! Mummy mummy! Wake up,”I heard a little voice coming from the side of my bed.“Good morning, mummy,” he greetedI rubbed my eyes with the back of my palm, and it fluttered open. He was smiling widely and full of excitement. His blue eyes sparkled “Good morning, baby, Did you sleep well?” I askedHe nodded his head. "Yes, mummy, I did,” he spoke.I moved closer to him and kissed him on the forehead. I rubbed my fingers through his messy hair. My baby Jason, wave, had been everything to me. He had been my pride and my joy. He seems to be growing up so quickly, but watching him grow seems to be the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced. Before I gave birth to him, I knew when his name would be when I first moved to the city of Oregon. I knew exactly what his name would be because his pregnancy brought me peace and strength. We may have faced so many hard times together, but we still had our good times. With waves by my side, nothing was im
“Well, you should know that your dad is always watching you from afar. Now I am your mother and your father,” I spoke.Jason was asking more questions about his dad as the day passed by. I could not understand why he always brought up the topic.“My friends in school always talk about their fathers and how he would be okay with them, and I do not have any story to tell. Does that mean that I do not have a father?” he asked. I paused for a while. I didn't know how I answered such questions. I knew something like this would happen someday. At that moment, all I could do was lean in close to him and wrap my arms around him. I couldn't lie to him, and I could not tell him the truth. “Your father is coming soon, but you know that you always have me. Whenever they talk about their fathers, talk about me and the adventures we had done together,” I said. He nodded his head and lay on my arms. The question about his father was becoming more obvious. I have always tried my best to be a fat
I arrived at my school. I looked up at the signboard, “School of Culinary, Oregon.” I signed when I read the writings, and I felt even more of myself. I will graduate from here in a few weeks, and I cannot wait to be independent and have my own restaurant. I will also become an international chef, which will make me go global. When I was lost in thought, I heard a voice calling behind me, “Elle, Elle,” it called.I turned around, and Sam was walking towards me with a wide smile on his face. He stopped in his tracks when he came close to me. “Good morning, same. How are you doing?” I asked.“I'm doing great; I got you a rose,” he said, handing me a rose. “Wow, thank you. It's so beautiful,” I said and thanked him. Same has been a very good friend of mine since I started this school. We started at the same time, and we made a good pair. I don't even know how I could make it through this school without his support. Sam Michael had grey eyes, light brown hair, was six feet tall, and
Nicklaus’s POV:“This is not what I asked. I asked to see the company's finances, and you are bringing me this? What is wrong with you?”“This is the right figure, sir,”“You got to be kidding me. Why is five hundred million dollars gone in weeks?”“Are y'all now deaf and dumb?” I asked. They shook their heads when Joe walked up to me. "Sir, I get a printout of how the money came out and what it was used for,” he said, handing over the copy to me. I went through it, and my eyes widened. I looked at them. “You may leave; now stay,” I said. They all rushed outside the office, and Joe waited behind. “This is the 3rd time my wife has been taking huge sums of money since I travelled to Atlanta. Why didn't you tell me about it?” I asked.“Sir, I thought you were aware. These are what she used to have money for. He spoke and handed me receipts. My eyes widened, and my jaw dropped. “She went shopping with such an amount of money.”“This would have been invested for new projects. I already ha
Nicklaus POV:I tightened my fist beside me, still trying to understand what Sarah meant by Elena being dead and forgotten. Did she kill Elena? I have not heard from Elena in five years. Could it be that Sarah was right? Did Sarah really get rid of Elena? Not only did I kick her out of my life because she couldn't give me a child, but because of the allegations laid on her now I am beginning to rethink things. Elena looked so harmless, and I never suspected her when we lived together. How did the allegations come true? How does she have the nerve to hurt Elena? What else could she have done? Does it mean that Sarah had been lying to me all along? All I want right now is nothing but the fucking truth. I will stop at nothing to find out. Does it mean that she killed Elena or hurt her? I slammed the door open, and the girls and Sarah turned to look at me in shock. They didn't expect my return so soon, and I know that they sensed that I overheard their conversations because they all gasp
