Logan’s POV

I had gotten an invitation from Alpha Ethan, that he was requesting my presents. Already knowing what it would be about, I knew it was a risk going there. But as Alpha, I could hardly reject an invitation to go and see another Alpha regarding business. Leaving early, around six in the morning to be on time for the nine o’clock meeting. I was still tired from last night, going to sleep that late, but I was used to it, sleeping early wasn’t part of having the title as Alpha.

As we drove onto the driveway, Ethan was waiting for me in the clearing, his posture was rigid and his eyes hard. He wasn’t one to hide his emotions well. You could always tell what he was feeling, even if it was heartache. But from what I could see he looked pissed. The instant he saw my car drive in, his eyes darkened even more.

“Logan.” His voice greeted me as I stepped out.

“Ethan.” I replied, my tone matching his. There was no point of fake friendliness. We both knew why I was there.
