Silence fell on the dining table as the children ate silently but the glances they kept stealing at Amy said it all.

Amber sat at the far corner trying to come into terms with what her brother had told her. Amy could literally taste the awkward atmosphere in the room. After the emotional breakdown she experienced in the room earlier, no one said a word to the other.

“Mommy, are you back for good, or are you going to leave us again?” Dylan asked, his eyes sharp as he looked at her. The bitterness in his voice was not concealable to anyone who heard his statement.

“Dylan! Table manners, eat your food, you'll have time to discuss everything there is to know after dinner,” Liam jumped in quickly, not sure why he felt agitated at his son's attitude.
