Please, don't stop,

Kyla cracked her eyes open slightly, furrowing her brows from the bright white light in the room. It took her a while to process what was happening. Her dad! “Dad?” Kyla muttered, but her voice came out croaky and strained.

She tried calling, but no sound came out this time, her throat feeling as if someone had dragged bags of sand through it.

Kyla couldn't push the image of seeing her dad lying on the floor bleeding. She had to go see him no matter what. He had to have survived for the sake of her sanity.

Something heavy on her bed side made her freeze as she tried to sit up. Kyla popped her head letting her eyes search for whatever it was that was restricting her movement. Her eyes rested on Liam who appeared to have fallen asleep with his brows knitted in worry.

Kyla stirred trying to stay in a comfortable position as she watched him carefully. He had really gone through a lot in the past few days. She couldn't trade him for anything in the world.
