A knock at the door

Feeling tense and uncertain Kyla retired to her room as soon as dinner was over. She hasn't stopped contemplating on how to tell Liam about their unborn baby. She paced around the room picking her on her nails nervously.

Lost in thought, she jumped slightly at the feel of familiar hands around her waist.

“What's up love, what are you thinking about?” Liam asked, placing his head between her neck and shoulder.

Kyla felt her stomach muscles tense at the thought that Liam could feel she was expectant.

“Love, if this is about what the kids said…”

“There'ssomethingihavebeenkeepingfromyou,” Kyla said so fast that she had to catch her breath. If Liam wasn't keen to listen he wouldn't have grasped anything she said.

“What? I didn't get you,” Liam said, standing before her, his gaze fixed on her.

Kyla fixated her eyes on his chest, unable to maintain eye contact. She didn't know how to say the words out slowly, they could seem like just two words, but she couldn't understand why it was so
