JEZEBEL’S POV
I moved a step backward, unable to handle the feeling of his stern expression he gave me.
“Are you sure about this, and not pulling my legs. Because Jezebel, if you are pulling my legs, unnecessarily, on something you know I take very seriously, I won’t take it lightly with you.” He warned, sternly.
That sent chills down my spine. I understood that he would feel very hurt, and annoyed if he found out that it was a lie, and that made my hands sweat out. What made me very nervous was the fact that he could decide to take me to the hospital at this very moment, and I hadn't prepared anything beforehand.
Oh, goodness. I picked the wrong time to speak carelessly. But then, letting him see how nervous he was making me feel, would only make him suspect that there was a high chance that I was lying, and that would be the end of it.
No matter how corne
DAISY’S POVThe cool of the night made things seem peaceful, even at the dining table. I glanced at Jezebel as she ate, while smiling. I couldn’t just bring myself to believe that she was actually pregnant. The kind of person she had portrayed herself to be, over the years, only made me find things she said unbelievable.I had overheard when she informed Max that she was pregnant, and that only seemed like a scheme to me. But then, scheme or not, I felt a bit worried about what would happen to me next. Max could end up treating me less than he has been treating me, all this while, and even more like a breeder. It wouldn’t be considered unfair, to people because initially, and even now, I have the breeder title, on.Well, I shouldn’t also fold my arms and watch her spin and plan things that would only affect my children and me. More importantly, I had to protect my children fro
JEZEBEL’S POVRegardless of whatever situation I was in, I wasn’t going to allow myself to look defeated or caught red-handed, especially not by Daisy. “You’re speaking on baseless things, Daisy. You are just scared and jealous of me. In case you aren’t aware, my baby is even more real than your children. There would be no use of you, anymore.” I uttered, and walked out on her, leaving her to dwell on the words I had said.It would certainly crush her and make her feel like her time and era has really ended. But then, her guts this time, really got me pissed. I headed back to my room, and on getting to my room, I hit the wall, out of frustration.I wouldn’t want anyone to destroy whatever I was planning, and for Daisy to have made mention of the fake pregnancy even when it was obvious, she wasn’t sure, it meant only one thing; that she was suspecting something was off.“Well, Daisy, you can only suspect, but can never find out.” I uttered under my breath, staring at the mirror with a
KYLE’S POVI shut the door behind me, the moment I walked out of the room which I had made Jezebel stay in. Discussions seemed to be smooth with her, and somehow, our minds synced most times, on ideas like this.I walked down the stairs, and headed to the mini bar at the left corner close to the living room. This was actually a good place to rent, for the meantime. At least, it won’t make me miss home, for a while, until I’m done with my mission, here.I picked a bourbon bottle, and poured myself a drink in my tumbler, then I raised it up to my lips to have a good sip of it.“Mm! Tastes good.” I voiced out, and closed my eyes to savor the perfect taste.Drinking bourbon when you have had a bright day was perfect as it elevated one’s mood, more.“Good day, Alpha Kyle.” Darko, my right-hand man
Max's POVI needed to do something about this before it would be too late to save her and our baby. Tracing her phone didn’t work, when we brought an expert to do the work, and it was depressing.“What do we do?” Nicholas asked as he came back from escorting my visitor out.“I haven’t thought of any other way out of this.” I replied as I let out a deep sigh.“Hold on. I thought you placed a tracker on her car. Did you remove it?” Nicholas reminded me as he moved closer to my office table. “Oh, Yes! The tracker! Why didn’t I think of this? I didn’t remove it.” I was so lost in thinking about her safety that I had forgotten about it.There was a time I felt a bit bad for placing a tracker on her car, because she had once talked about not making guards follow her everywhere. And due to how much I loved her, I could have removed the tracker out of her car, out of respect, even though what I meant for her was safety.I opened up my second laptop, and then checked out her whereabouts, and
MAX’ POVAs we got to the pack house, I pulled up the car, and got out with Jezebel.“Are you okay?” I asked her again as we headed into the pack house, and she nodded while she leaned on me.It was so annoying that the brain behind Jezebel’s abduction was dead. Well, that would not be the end. The very day I would set my eyes on them, I would get back at them, in multiple folds.Right before we got to the pack house, we had gone to the hospital, and ran a quick check-up on her to be certain that no harm had been done to her. Thankfully, it turned out to be good news. They didn’t lay a hand on her, and the baby was fine, and healthy. As we walked in, the maids scurried towards us and welcomed us back, especially her.“I want you to take extra care of her.” I instructed them, and they all responded respectfully, then I t
JEZEBEL’S POV“Daisy, you don’t need to worry. We went for a check-up, already.” Max interrupted, although he spoke to her softly.I expected him to lose his temper on her since it was obvious she had a hunch that the pregnancy was fake, and probably needed another hospital to confirm it. Well, there was no way she would reveal my secret. Never!“I'd like to go to bed. I’m tired.” I said, and rose to my feet.“Are you sure? But you just got here.” Max uttered, looking concerned.“I suddenly don’t feel too good.” I replied, and pushed the chair back a little.Truly, I was beginning to feel nauseous, and my ears were seeming like they were going dim, making the sounds I was hearing seem almost impossible to hear. Even the aroma of the food irritated me.Could it be because Daisy just
DAISY’S POVWords failed me when I discovered Jezebel was truly pregnant. Not that I didn’t want her to get pregnant, but she was showing signs that made it look like she had a secret she was keeping, regarding that pregnancy.Especially this night when she acted so worked up when I insisted that we do a check up on her, in a different hospital. While standing in the waiting room, Max walked up to me.“I need to see you, Daisy. Can we step out?” He asked, and I nodded.Although, I wondered what he needed to see me for. I followed him out to his car, and then he leaned his back on the car, while standing firmly. For a moment, silence reigned, and I did nothing but wait for him to speak. I just hoped he wasn’t about to say something which would break my heart.“I really do hope you haven’t been feeling left out and all,
DAISY’S POVMy eyelids opened slowly, and to my shock, it was already nightfall, and I was on a ground which seemed to have been cleared of grasses and plants, about two days ago. The damp smell that came from the ground made me feel a bit sick, so I managed to stand on my feet.On rising to my feet, I looked around, and discovered I was on a vast land, with just one thing I could see; the moon.Apart from the moon in the sky, there was nothing else I could see. No trees, rivers, or hills.“Where am I?” I muttered under my breath, feeling a bit anxious about the weirdness going on.“Daisy.” I heard a whisper, like the person was close to my ears.I looked back sharply, but found no one.“Daisy,” came another whisper.I kept looking around, abruptly as I heard whispers of my name, and it was becoming unbearable that I held my head, which at the same time, covered my ears.“Stop it, please. Stop it.” I pleaded as tears ran down my eyes as I shut them. After about a minute, those whispers
