Dead end

Max's POV

I needed to do something about this before it would be too late to save her and our baby. Tracing her phone didn’t work, when we brought an expert to do the work, and it was depressing.

“What do we do?” Nicholas asked as he came back from escorting my visitor out.

“I haven’t thought of any other way out of this.” I replied as I let out a deep sigh.

“Hold on. I thought you placed a tracker on her car. Did you remove it?” Nicholas reminded me as he moved closer to my office table.

“Oh, Yes! The tracker! Why didn’t I think of this? I didn’t remove it.” I was so lost in thinking about her safety that I had forgotten about it.

There was a time I felt a bit bad for placing a tracker on her car, because she had once talked about not making guards follow her everywhere. And due to how much I loved her, I could have removed the tracker out of her car, out of respect, even though what I meant for her was safety.
