Ulterior motive?

DAISY’S POV

“Daisy? Wow. Been a long while.” Two of the neighbors who came in, uttered as they looked at me in surprise.

I only smiled shyly at them, and they looked so happy to see me.

“Why are you all being so nice? Isn’t she a wicked daughter? She hasn’t been here, in years to see her father, and only came when I sent a text to her. You don’t deserve to live among us.” Mrs. Dane shouted at the top of her voice.

Although, my step-father wasn’t a man I loved, because he made me dislike him, especially because of the pain he made me go through, but I felt sorry for his death.
