Elaine’s POV
I sat on the table all alone and far away from other students because they clearly don’t want to be around me either. My head is buried in a book but I had no idea what I was reading since my mind is elsewhere.I could hear my twin half sisters giggling somewhere around. They are desperately trying to make sure no one believes we were related, which is fine by me. It has been like that right from the beginning as our mother wanted it that way.We shared the same mother but different fathers. Fortunately for them, they are still with their father while mine is nowhere to be seen. Hell, she has no idea who my father truly is which hurts more than anything. I was a mistake, a result of a cursed one night stand.Consumed in the pages that I read without understanding, my werewolf food is in front of me because I haven’t gotten used to their food around here. Back at the other pack, there used to be human food but here, none. There are no humans here. Only me.The sound of high heels hitting the floor reached my ears before anything could. I may be mute but my instincts are sharper than anything in the world. I hear sounds even real werewolves cannot because I’ve lived with them my entire life and know how to navigate my way amongst them. Sometimes.Raising my head from my book, my eyes found the owner of the heels and sure enough she was coming towards me. My stomach plummeted at the sight of that look in her face. They always have it when they want to bully someone.Despite joining this academy just three days ago, I have learned about all the important figures in the school. The ones everyone should stay away from, not that I haven’t noticed them on my first day anyway. This right here is the queen of this school, Leah. Every girl around here wants to be her or her friend and if they are not, they are all afraid of her. At the moment, I am too. She is gorgeous in every sense of word but it is clear she is out for my blood.Leah stood in front of my table and crossed her arms over her chest. The twins were standing not far away because they have also become friends in just the few days we got here. They have that charm of befriending the important people everywhere we go.They are currently throwing me daggers as if daring me to say we were related in any way. At this point they knew I wouldn’t say anything about us being related. I have learned my lesson for the first time.Leah's presence looming over my table sent a shiver down my spine, signaling trouble. With her group close by, including my twin half-sisters, who distanced themselves from me, the isolation felt suffocating. The unspoken message was clear: I was an outcast, unwelcome even among my own blood. As Leah's piercing gaze met mine, I braced myself for the impending storm that is to come. I just hope she isn’t going to ask me questions knowing I can’t answer."What's the matter, little loner? Can't find anyone desperate enough to sit with you?" Leah's voice dripped with malice, her words like daggers aimed at my already wounded spirit."Oh, I see. Cat got your tongue? Or maybe you're just too pathetic to speak." She smirked, reveling in her own cruelty.“She is mute.” One of the twins, Hailey said with a mocking giggle.“Whoa! Really?” Leah laughed so hard she almost fell over on her high heels.I clenched my jaw, willing myself to stay composed despite the burning anger and humiliation rising within me. I have been through this already, every time I end up cowering even if I thought I could do something with my anger."Come on, Leah, leave her alone since she cannot talk. Life is already cruel on her," it was Leah’s best friend, Olivia that chimed in, feebly attempting to intervene.Leah's laughter echoed through the cafeteria. "Oh, look who's suddenly grown a conscience. How adorable. But don't worry, sweetie, I'll be done with her soon enough."She gave me a wicked smile, then leaned down to take the ketchup from my table, the only thing that tasted a bit human. I tried licking it to help my hunger, knowing I’d still get werewolf food back home. The reason I'm as skinny as a stick.I saw what she intended to do even before she did, so I used my reflexes to stand up from the chair in one swift movement, making the ketchup fall back on her pink dress. Leah shrieked at the mess, then her eyes fell on mine.My fight or flight instinct kicked in, and I was running out of the cafeteria before they could blink. I let my feet carry me wherever they could until I ended up in the forest where I heard they change for their wolf form practice. It might be dangerous being human and all, but I didn’t care. Those murderous eyes Leah shot me promised so much pain that I am not ready to endure. I ran until my feet gave in, and that was when I realized I left heaven and came to hell.I bumped into someone’s tall, muscular back, but he didn’t even budge. I bounced back, wincing at the pain in my feet from running so much. My eyes slowly gazed at the back before the owner leisurely turned around with the coldest blue eyes I have ever seen.It was Killian, the Alpha Prince. Everyone knows who he is by those cold, cold eyes that could freeze a volcano.Right behind him is an older guy hanging from a tree, all bloody and looking to be on the brink of dying. The bruises around Killian’s hands told me all I needed to know. I stumbled back a step, feeling doomed.“Who are you?”Elaine’s POVI couldn’t answer him, no matter how much I wanted to, knowing I was in grave danger. I shook my head, taking several steps back, but he only narrowed his eyes at me, making me stop moving. Danger rolls off of him in waves, and my insides shook like leaves.Killian is shrouded in a chilling aura of fear and intimidation. His reputation precedes him like a dark cloud, casting a shadow over anyone who dares to cross his path. He allows only Leah and a select few into his inner circle, while the rest tremble at the mere thought of attracting his attention. Those who dare to approach him risk being scorched by the flames of his wrath. Apparently, he has had a terrible past. I didn't want to know about thinking I’d never cross paths with someone this dangerous. I should have eavesdropped!“I don’t like repeating myself,” his voice was husky and deep, serene to the ears even with the undertone of trouble beneath.I watched him with wide eyes, hoping he would understand that I
Elaine’s POV“What happened?” Leah stepped forward with the twins behind her and her best friend, Olivia.“She tried to seduce Killian,” someone whispered not so subtly from her side, and she narrowed her eyes at me.She had managed to change from her dress to a golden one, but that was not my concern right now. My half-sisters giggled when they heard the blatant lie. I was sure no one had seen Killian and me kissing, but they just assumed. Leah's eyes bore into mine, her expression a mix of accusation and amusement. "Is that true?" she demanded, her voice laced with scorn."No, it's not!" I protested inside my head, hurt and frustrated. I opened my mouth to respond but no sound came out. Instead I shook my head vigorously making my light blonde hair get in my eyes but I still pleaded for them to understand through my expression. They didn’t. The woods erupted into laughter, all of them knowing I was mute and mocking my inability to speak. Tears continue to rush down my face, my ch
Elaine’s POV I don’t know how long it had been, but it must have been more than a day when the guards decided to check on me. My bones were colder than ice because they made sure to bathe me in ice water every time I dried off.One of them started untying me with rough precision while I gritted my teeth to keep from yelping in pain, knowing they hated it when I screamed. They’d make the punishment ten times worse if I did, a lesson I learned the hard way. Learned nonetheless.“You are going to the palace to work as a servant. That is going to be your last punishment if you don’t ruin Prince Killian’s engagement party,” the other guard gruffed out, as though he didn’t want me to leave. Wicked dog.“One wrong move from you, and you won’t like it back here. Understand?” the one untying me demanded.I weakly nodded, not trusting myself to do anything other than raise my head. I don’t have a voice anyway. They had mocked me throughout my time here for not being able to make any sound but
Elaine’s POV “Why did you drink it?” I questioned desperately in my head, anger and frustration leaking at my insides. I shouldn’t be feeling this way for this monster that has put me through a lot in the past twenty four hours and killed a man for not adding honorific to his fucking name. But something about the toe curling kisses we shared made me want more. Much more. There is something dark, satanic and sinful about the way he had kissed me and I want to feel it again. It wasn’t just a kiss, it wasn’t even cute or romantic to say the least. The darkness within us is actually calling something buried within me. I want it with Killian. He is the only person that can fulfill those dark fantasies, I know that from the way he had stared at me after he kissed me in that dungeon. The way his tongue had dominated and sexed mine in a way that made me tremble from inside out. He knows how to love a tongue, who knows what he would do to the rest of my sensitive body? Wetness pulled bet
Killian’s POVI stared at my mother and older brother as they angrily paced the room, having witnessed what happened out there with Elaine, my mute human mate. I have ruined the whole evening for them which isn’t what they had planned for me. My brother had the nerve to slap me twice because of what I did. As the younger brother to the Alpha King, I am supposed to listen to whatever he says just like I did my father. My mother always supports them because she is into this politics way more than I am as the Prince. She loves power, so does my brother and he has it now. I don’t like that he is showing that power on me though. He is my brother for fucks sake. Older than me with barely three years but he acts like he owns the world ever since he took over at the Alpha King. “Why would you bite a freaking human? That pathetic weak thing?” My mother yelled again, her face going red from so much anger. “Yeah, he wanted to humiliate us. No one from this kingdom has ever mated a human. The
Elaine’s POV My feet felt like lead weights, anchoring me in place as the guard's words washed over me in a bewildering torrent. Disbelief is written all over my face because I could barely hear what he is actually saying. Accusations, wild and baseless, tumbled from his lips like poisoned daggers, each one stabbing at the fragile fabric of my reality. Why, in the name of all that is sane, would the maids point their fingers at me, implicating me in the heinous act of regicide? I haven't so much as glimpsed the faces of the majesties, let alone had any interaction with them. Who are they?As if a mere peasant will be allowed to meet the Alpha King and mother queen. I heard about how powerful they are. No maid is going to be allowed to see them, especially a maid like me that is serving punishment. So what is this guard saying? Why is he saying it like he rehearsed it?My existence within these walls is a mere penance, a sentence to be served for a handful of hours before I am perm
Elaine’s POV Killian's eyes blazed with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine as he stood beside Leah, his newly-minted mate. The air crackled with tension, heavy with the weight of unspoken accusations and bitter betrayal. My heart pounded in my chest as I watched him, helpless and mute, unable to defend myself against the onslaught of accusations hurled my way. Not that it would have change anything. Leah's voice cut through the charged atmosphere like a dagger, her words dripping with venom as she accused me of heinous crimes I had not committed. How she must be rejoicing in her head. “Killian, my love," she purred, her tone saccharine sweet yet laced with malice, "you must believe the guards. They saw Elaine with their own eyes, lurking in the shadows like the wicked human witch she is."I felt a surge of panic rise within me as I met Killian's steely gaze, silently pleading for him to see the truth behind Leah's lies. But his expression remained impassive, his feature
Elaine’s POV Tears streamed down my cheeks in silent protest, my voice lost amidst the clamor of their cruelty. With trembling hands, I raised my arms in a feeble attempt to shield myself from the barrage of ridicule raining down upon me, but it was futile."Please... stop," I pleaded, my words choked with emotion in my head, they won’t hear me. Only I could hear myself. But my silent cries fell on deaf ears, drowned out by the raucous laughter and taunts that surrounded me. Each tear that fell felt like a dagger to my heart, a painful reminder of my helplessness in the face of their relentless assault. But still, they showed no mercy, their laughter growing louder and more derisive with each passing moment. They revealed in my suffering, feeding off my pain like wolves to a wounded prey, their mocking voices echoing off the walls of the hall.I felt myself crumbling beneath the weight of their scorn, my spirit battered and bruised, but still defiant in the face of their cruelty. Th
### Epilogue: A New DawnThe sun rose over the valley, casting a warm, golden light that signified a new beginning. The pack gathered at the clearing, the air filled with a sense of hope and renewal. It had been months since Leah's downfall, and the wounds left by her treachery were slowly healing.Elaine stood at the edge of the forest, her white fur glowing in the early morning light. She looked out over her pack, feeling a deep sense of peace and fulfillment. This was where she belonged, and she had earned her place among them through strength, courage, and an unyielding sense of justice.Killian approached her, his royal attire reflecting the dawn's light. His presence was a calming force, a reminder of the bond they shared and the future they were building together. He reached out, gently taking her hand in his."Are you ready?" he asked, his voice soft and filled with love.Elaine nodded, a smile playing on her lips. "More than ever."Together, they walked towards the heart of t
Elaine’s POVThe morning sun cast a golden hue over the clearing, the perfect setting for what was to come. A large crowd of pack members had gathered, their eyes filled with a mix of anticipation and trepidation. The tension in the air was palpable, the whispers among the crowd echoing the gravity of the situation.Leah stood on the opposite side of the clearing, her face a mask of defiance and fear. She tried to mask her fear with arrogance, but I could see the flicker of uncertainty in her eyes. This was it. The culmination of all her scheming and cruelty. She had nowhere left to hide, and her fate was sealed.I took a deep breath, feeling the power of my wolf surging within me. This was why I had changed into a wolf in the first place, to bring justice and reclaim my rightful place. I stepped forward, the crowd parting to make way for me, their whispers growing louder."Elaine," I heard Killian's voice, filled with both pride and concern. I glanced back at him, giving a small nod.
Killian’s POVElaine, Riley, and I sat comfortably in the living room, discussing everything from kingdom affairs to light-hearted gossip. The warmth of our camaraderie was a welcome respite from the weight of recent events. Riley seemed more at ease, though she still fretted over her boss's reaction to the car accident."Thanks for being here, guys," Riley said, her smile soft but genuine. "I'm really worried about talking to my boss."Elaine squeezed her hand. "We'll figure it out together. Maybe Jake can offer to cover the damages, considering it was his fault."Riley nodded, her face thoughtful. "I hope he'll understand. I just don't want to lose my job.""Just be honest," I suggested. "Bosses appreciate honesty and a willingness to take responsibility. We'll back you up."As we settled back into our conversation, Jake, who had been uncharacteristically quiet, suddenly spoke up, his voice heavy with emotion."I can't keep this in any longer," he said, his tone serious and urgent.
Killian’s POVElaine and I sat comfortably in the main living room, discussing our plans for ruling the kingdom. The warm sunlight filtered through the large windows, casting a golden hue over the room. I leaned back in my chair, a contented smile on my face as we shared ideas and dreams for our future reign."We should focus on strengthening our alliances with neighboring packs," Elaine suggested, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "It will ensure peace and prosperity for our people."I nodded, appreciating her insight. "And we can invest in better education and training for our warriors. Make sure they are the best."Our conversation was interrupted by the sudden sound of hurried footsteps. We turned to see Jake storming in, looking visibly agitated. Behind him, Riley entered the room, panting heavily. Elaine quickly stood up, concern etched on her face, and rushed over to her friend."Riley, what's wrong?" she asked, her voice filled with worry.Riley glanced at Jake, then back
Elaine’s POV The next day dawned with an air of anticipation, the excitement of the upcoming ball palpable throughout the palace. I stood in my room, the soft morning light filtering through the grand windows, casting a warm glow on the elegant furnishings. Today was the day I would officially claim my place beside Killian, and I felt a mix of nerves and excitement.I dressed meticulously, every detail of my attire chosen to reflect the significance of the event. The gown was a deep midnight blue, the fabric rich and luxurious, cascading in elegant waves down to the floor. The intricate embroidery sparkled subtly, catching the light with every movement. I checked my reflection in the mirror, ensuring that everything was in place, feeling the weight of the moment.Riley stood beside me, equally dressed to the nines. She had been a constant support through the tumultuous events of recent days, and seeing her ready for the ball filled me with a sense of camaraderie and reassurance. Her
Killian’s POV But as Leah turned to leave, she whirled around again, her eyes blazing with fury. "You think you can just dismiss me like that? You think you can mate with a human and keep your place as Alpha? That's not how it works, Killian!"Elaine stiffened beside me, her fear transforming into a simmering rage. "Don't you dare talk about things you don't understand, Leah," she snapped. Before I could stop her, she stepped forward, her eyes flashing with determination."Elaine, don't," I warned, reaching out to pull her back, but she shook off my hand. She was too angry, too filled with righteous indignation to be swayed."You want to see what I'm capable of, Leah?" she challenged, her voice steady and unwavering. "I'll show you."With that, she began to change. I watched in stunned silence as her body shifted and contorted, her human form giving way to something much more powerful. In mere moments, Elaine had transformed into a magnificent white wolf, her fur gleaming like fresh
Killian’s POVBut I should have known Leah wouldn’t leave so easily. The next thing I knew, while I was going through my list of new elders, my phone rang. It was Jake."Killian, we have a situation," he said urgently."What is it?" I asked, already feeling a knot form in my stomach."It's Leah. She's at your townhouse, and there are pack members gathering outside. She's causing a scene, and she's dragging Elaine out with her."My blood ran cold. I wasted no time, bolting from my office and racing towards my townhouse. The drive felt like an eternity, each second ticking by in agonizing slowness. When I finally arrived, the scene was worse than I had imagined.A crowd of pack members had gathered, their faces filled with confusion and concern. Leah stood at the center of it all, gripping Elaine's arm tightly. Elaine looked frightened but defiant, her eyes searching the crowd for me."Leah!" I roared, pushing through the throng of onlookers. "Let her go!"She turned to face me, her exp
Killian’s POVAs Killian, I marched through the palace halls with a sense of determination, the echoes of my footsteps reverberating against the cold stone walls. It was time to confront Leah and put an end to her manipulative games once and for all. She had taken things too far, and I wasn't going to let her continue poisoning the pack with her lies and deceit. When I reached her quarters, I didn't bother knocking. I pushed the door open and stepped inside, finding Leah lounging on a chaise with an air of smugness. Her eyes widened in surprise as she saw me, but she quickly masked it with a sneer."Killian," she purred, her voice dripping with false sweetness. "What brings you here?""We need to talk," I said, my tone cold and unyielding. I didn't give her a chance to respond as I crossed the room and stood before her. "Your time here is over, Leah."Her eyes narrowed, and she sat up, crossing her arms over her chest. "You can't just throw me out. I have every right to be here.""You
Killian’s POV The sun had barely risen when I decided it was time to confront the elders. It was a pivotal day, one that would determine the future course of our pack. With resolve, I called for a meeting with the cabinet elders, knowing that the truth would soon come to light. As I entered the council chamber, eleven elders were already seated, their faces a mix of curiosity and suspicion. I could feel the weight of their eyes on me, scrutinizing my every move. Taking a deep breath, I addressed them with a calm but authoritative voice. "Thank you all for coming on such short notice," I began, my gaze sweeping over the room. "There are matters of great importance that need to be addressed."Without hesitation, I moved to the heart of the issue. "After careful consideration and investigation, it has come to my attention that some among you have not been loyal to our pack. Your allegiance lies elsewhere, with those who seek to undermine our unity and strength."A murmur of unease ripp
