Elaine’s POV
I couldn’t answer him, no matter how much I wanted to, knowing I was in grave danger. I shook my head, taking several steps back, but he only narrowed his eyes at me, making me stop moving. Danger rolls off of him in waves, and my insides shook like leaves.Killian is shrouded in a chilling aura of fear and intimidation. His reputation precedes him like a dark cloud, casting a shadow over anyone who dares to cross his path. He allows only Leah and a select few into his inner circle, while the rest tremble at the mere thought of attracting his attention. Those who dare to approach him risk being scorched by the flames of his wrath. Apparently, he has had a terrible past. I didn't want to know about thinking I’d never cross paths with someone this dangerous. I should have eavesdropped!“I don’t like repeating myself,” his voice was husky and deep, serene to the ears even with the undertone of trouble beneath.I watched him with wide eyes, hoping he would understand that I wasn’t disrespecting him by not talking, and he shouldn’t take it like that. But he started coming closer, and I took steps back until my back hit a tree trunk behind me. Trapped. I feel trapped.I shouldn’t have noticed this at this time of peril, but Killian is handsome. Way too gorgeous and beautiful for his own good. Someone as dangerous, ruthless, and cold as him should be ugly with scars and everything, but he isn’t.His blue eyes are the most gorgeous icy ones I have ever seen, even though they are cold and dead. He has got this perfect skin I’m sure those human girls would kill for with their ridiculously expensive skincare products. With the way I’m craning my neck to look at him, I’m sure he is more than six feet, which makes him more intimidating. He looks young, but those eyes of his look like they have seen it all, and he is still as strong as ever. If I hadn’t known better, I’d say he looks lost and… alone. Those long lashes I am jealous of and thick luscious black hair that should be illegal. I need to know the shampoo he uses—I snapped back to reality when I saw that he is now a few steps away from me. Shit. I got distracted, and I usually am not.“Do you know what that man did to earn that punishment?” He asked huskily, his steps predatory and filled with aristocratic confidence.Knowing I can’t risk his wrath further, I shook my head rapidly, making my blonde hair fly all over my face. He stared down at me like he wanted to crush me with his large fists at the same time do things he shouldn’t. What are those things though?“He called me Killian. Not Prince Killian or your Highness. He called my fucking name with no honorific,” he said calmly, though you could see the storm in his eyes.Wait… that guy just called him by his given name, and he has him hanged on that tree, torturing him? Oh god, what is he going to do to me now? I am not answering his question, and he doesn’t know that I am mute.“And if you don’t start talking right now, you are going to face a worse fate than his,” he growled into my face, making me jump back. There is not enough space in front of me to sign; he has crowded me. His scent, woodsy and pure manly essence, has been made somewhere in my belly pool with liquid. I opened and closed my mouth like a gaping fish, hoping he’d understand. He doesn’t.His eyes kept blazing to a lighter shade of blue, almost silver, that scared the shit out of me. I know werewolves have two eye colors, but I have never seen it change up close. Not my mother’s, stepfather’s, or half-siblings’. This shit is scary.I stood there and his eyes narrowed into slits, radiating a fury that I had never witnessed before. He has sensed something with his werewolf power and he doesn’t like it. The intensity of his anger sent shivers down my spine, causing me to quiver in my boots. It was as if the very air around him crackled with a dangerous energy, warning me of the perilous territory I had stumbled into. His gaze pierced through me like icy daggers, leaving me frozen in place.Suddenly, without warning, Killian's lips crashed against mine with an intensity that took my breath away. It was a kiss filled with raw angry passion and desire, so unexpected yet undeniably deep. His embrace was firm, pulling me closer as if he wanted to consume me whole, his lips moving hungrily against mine. His one hand tugged at my hair to tilt my face up to meet his in a not so gentle way.All sense of fear and hesitation melted away, replaced by a whirlwind of sensation as I surrendered to the overwhelming force of his kiss. It was a kiss that ignited a fire within me, leaving me utterly breathless and longing for more. This was my first kiss but it seems like I’m doing good because he keeps trying to pry my lips wider with his tongue. He tastes like something undeniably carnal and sinful yet powerful. It stirred dead feelings within me, letting out a wild side I buried deep. Not able to keep it in, I let out a loud moan but that was enough to make him pull away abruptly from me. He roughly let go of my hair resulting in me hitting my back against the trunk of the tree behind me painfully. My eyes watered.Killian only gazed at me with much more fury than earlier and this time around I know there won’t be any kiss coming. I swallowed, trying to mold myself with the tree trunk but it didn’t happen. His hand shot to my neck to choke me, his grip tightening by the second.“She fucking gave me a pathetic human! How dare She!” He gritted in my face as tears rolled down my cheeks.“Damn. She wanted to fuck you up real bad,” I startled at the sound of the man hanging from that tree croaking out with a laugh. Before I could blink, Killian turned around with a gun in hand and shot the man between his eyes. I blinked, again and again trying to unsee what just happened but I couldn’t. If I was shaking before, now I’m fully ready to let the wind take me.Killian just killed a man in front of me. He turned his attention back to me, eyes pointed with hatred and fury that I don’t deserve. This She he is talking about deserves the anger not me."Guards, take her to the dungeon. Make sure she knows that she isn’t in the human world anymore. Make it agonizing.” His words dripped with a chilling authority.I hadn’t noticed that there were guards there but they appeared out of nowhere with their expression of stoic determination. I tried to move my hands to sign or even let out a sound as panic gripped me but nothing. I couldn’t. I cursed being a mute.Soon the whole empty woods was filled with several other students. Some of them were snapping pictures… of me looking god knows how after being kissed by the devil himself while others were snickering behind their hands mocking me.The tears refused to cease. I raise my head to where the now dead man was hanging earlier but he was gone, like he was never there. Like I imagined the whole thing. The kiss, the kill, everything.Elaine’s POV“What happened?” Leah stepped forward with the twins behind her and her best friend, Olivia.“She tried to seduce Killian,” someone whispered not so subtly from her side, and she narrowed her eyes at me.She had managed to change from her dress to a golden one, but that was not my concern right now. My half-sisters giggled when they heard the blatant lie. I was sure no one had seen Killian and me kissing, but they just assumed. Leah's eyes bore into mine, her expression a mix of accusation and amusement. "Is that true?" she demanded, her voice laced with scorn."No, it's not!" I protested inside my head, hurt and frustrated. I opened my mouth to respond but no sound came out. Instead I shook my head vigorously making my light blonde hair get in my eyes but I still pleaded for them to understand through my expression. They didn’t. The woods erupted into laughter, all of them knowing I was mute and mocking my inability to speak. Tears continue to rush down my face, my ch
Elaine’s POV I don’t know how long it had been, but it must have been more than a day when the guards decided to check on me. My bones were colder than ice because they made sure to bathe me in ice water every time I dried off.One of them started untying me with rough precision while I gritted my teeth to keep from yelping in pain, knowing they hated it when I screamed. They’d make the punishment ten times worse if I did, a lesson I learned the hard way. Learned nonetheless.“You are going to the palace to work as a servant. That is going to be your last punishment if you don’t ruin Prince Killian’s engagement party,” the other guard gruffed out, as though he didn’t want me to leave. Wicked dog.“One wrong move from you, and you won’t like it back here. Understand?” the one untying me demanded.I weakly nodded, not trusting myself to do anything other than raise my head. I don’t have a voice anyway. They had mocked me throughout my time here for not being able to make any sound but
Elaine’s POV “Why did you drink it?” I questioned desperately in my head, anger and frustration leaking at my insides. I shouldn’t be feeling this way for this monster that has put me through a lot in the past twenty four hours and killed a man for not adding honorific to his fucking name. But something about the toe curling kisses we shared made me want more. Much more. There is something dark, satanic and sinful about the way he had kissed me and I want to feel it again. It wasn’t just a kiss, it wasn’t even cute or romantic to say the least. The darkness within us is actually calling something buried within me. I want it with Killian. He is the only person that can fulfill those dark fantasies, I know that from the way he had stared at me after he kissed me in that dungeon. The way his tongue had dominated and sexed mine in a way that made me tremble from inside out. He knows how to love a tongue, who knows what he would do to the rest of my sensitive body? Wetness pulled bet
Killian’s POVI stared at my mother and older brother as they angrily paced the room, having witnessed what happened out there with Elaine, my mute human mate. I have ruined the whole evening for them which isn’t what they had planned for me. My brother had the nerve to slap me twice because of what I did. As the younger brother to the Alpha King, I am supposed to listen to whatever he says just like I did my father. My mother always supports them because she is into this politics way more than I am as the Prince. She loves power, so does my brother and he has it now. I don’t like that he is showing that power on me though. He is my brother for fucks sake. Older than me with barely three years but he acts like he owns the world ever since he took over at the Alpha King. “Why would you bite a freaking human? That pathetic weak thing?” My mother yelled again, her face going red from so much anger. “Yeah, he wanted to humiliate us. No one from this kingdom has ever mated a human. The
Elaine’s POV My feet felt like lead weights, anchoring me in place as the guard's words washed over me in a bewildering torrent. Disbelief is written all over my face because I could barely hear what he is actually saying. Accusations, wild and baseless, tumbled from his lips like poisoned daggers, each one stabbing at the fragile fabric of my reality. Why, in the name of all that is sane, would the maids point their fingers at me, implicating me in the heinous act of regicide? I haven't so much as glimpsed the faces of the majesties, let alone had any interaction with them. Who are they?As if a mere peasant will be allowed to meet the Alpha King and mother queen. I heard about how powerful they are. No maid is going to be allowed to see them, especially a maid like me that is serving punishment. So what is this guard saying? Why is he saying it like he rehearsed it?My existence within these walls is a mere penance, a sentence to be served for a handful of hours before I am perm
Elaine’s POV Killian's eyes blazed with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine as he stood beside Leah, his newly-minted mate. The air crackled with tension, heavy with the weight of unspoken accusations and bitter betrayal. My heart pounded in my chest as I watched him, helpless and mute, unable to defend myself against the onslaught of accusations hurled my way. Not that it would have change anything. Leah's voice cut through the charged atmosphere like a dagger, her words dripping with venom as she accused me of heinous crimes I had not committed. How she must be rejoicing in her head. “Killian, my love," she purred, her tone saccharine sweet yet laced with malice, "you must believe the guards. They saw Elaine with their own eyes, lurking in the shadows like the wicked human witch she is."I felt a surge of panic rise within me as I met Killian's steely gaze, silently pleading for him to see the truth behind Leah's lies. But his expression remained impassive, his feature
Elaine’s POV Tears streamed down my cheeks in silent protest, my voice lost amidst the clamor of their cruelty. With trembling hands, I raised my arms in a feeble attempt to shield myself from the barrage of ridicule raining down upon me, but it was futile."Please... stop," I pleaded, my words choked with emotion in my head, they won’t hear me. Only I could hear myself. But my silent cries fell on deaf ears, drowned out by the raucous laughter and taunts that surrounded me. Each tear that fell felt like a dagger to my heart, a painful reminder of my helplessness in the face of their relentless assault. But still, they showed no mercy, their laughter growing louder and more derisive with each passing moment. They revealed in my suffering, feeding off my pain like wolves to a wounded prey, their mocking voices echoing off the walls of the hall.I felt myself crumbling beneath the weight of their scorn, my spirit battered and bruised, but still defiant in the face of their cruelty. Th
Killian’s POVI cautiously entered my brother's study, a sense of dread washed over me at the sight that greeted my eyes. I had to blink twice. I might be known to be ruthless but seeing my family’s bodies on the floor did something to me. There, on the floor, lay both my mother and brother, their bodies contorted in agony, foam spilling from their mouths. The acrid smell of wolfsbane hung heavy in the air, its toxic presence unmistakable.Questions raced through my mind in a frantic whirlwind. How did this happen? How had they been poisoned? And why hadn't they detected the deadly herb in whatever they had consumed? My heart clenched with fear and disbelief as I knelt beside them, desperate to find any sign of life amidst the stillness that surrounded me. Something weird jerked in my heart at the sight of them like this. But as I reached out to touch them, a cold realization settled over me like a shroud. They were gone, their lives stolen from them by a silent killer that lurked i
### Epilogue: A New DawnThe sun rose over the valley, casting a warm, golden light that signified a new beginning. The pack gathered at the clearing, the air filled with a sense of hope and renewal. It had been months since Leah's downfall, and the wounds left by her treachery were slowly healing.Elaine stood at the edge of the forest, her white fur glowing in the early morning light. She looked out over her pack, feeling a deep sense of peace and fulfillment. This was where she belonged, and she had earned her place among them through strength, courage, and an unyielding sense of justice.Killian approached her, his royal attire reflecting the dawn's light. His presence was a calming force, a reminder of the bond they shared and the future they were building together. He reached out, gently taking her hand in his."Are you ready?" he asked, his voice soft and filled with love.Elaine nodded, a smile playing on her lips. "More than ever."Together, they walked towards the heart of t
Elaine’s POVThe morning sun cast a golden hue over the clearing, the perfect setting for what was to come. A large crowd of pack members had gathered, their eyes filled with a mix of anticipation and trepidation. The tension in the air was palpable, the whispers among the crowd echoing the gravity of the situation.Leah stood on the opposite side of the clearing, her face a mask of defiance and fear. She tried to mask her fear with arrogance, but I could see the flicker of uncertainty in her eyes. This was it. The culmination of all her scheming and cruelty. She had nowhere left to hide, and her fate was sealed.I took a deep breath, feeling the power of my wolf surging within me. This was why I had changed into a wolf in the first place, to bring justice and reclaim my rightful place. I stepped forward, the crowd parting to make way for me, their whispers growing louder."Elaine," I heard Killian's voice, filled with both pride and concern. I glanced back at him, giving a small nod.
Killian’s POVElaine, Riley, and I sat comfortably in the living room, discussing everything from kingdom affairs to light-hearted gossip. The warmth of our camaraderie was a welcome respite from the weight of recent events. Riley seemed more at ease, though she still fretted over her boss's reaction to the car accident."Thanks for being here, guys," Riley said, her smile soft but genuine. "I'm really worried about talking to my boss."Elaine squeezed her hand. "We'll figure it out together. Maybe Jake can offer to cover the damages, considering it was his fault."Riley nodded, her face thoughtful. "I hope he'll understand. I just don't want to lose my job.""Just be honest," I suggested. "Bosses appreciate honesty and a willingness to take responsibility. We'll back you up."As we settled back into our conversation, Jake, who had been uncharacteristically quiet, suddenly spoke up, his voice heavy with emotion."I can't keep this in any longer," he said, his tone serious and urgent.
Killian’s POVElaine and I sat comfortably in the main living room, discussing our plans for ruling the kingdom. The warm sunlight filtered through the large windows, casting a golden hue over the room. I leaned back in my chair, a contented smile on my face as we shared ideas and dreams for our future reign."We should focus on strengthening our alliances with neighboring packs," Elaine suggested, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "It will ensure peace and prosperity for our people."I nodded, appreciating her insight. "And we can invest in better education and training for our warriors. Make sure they are the best."Our conversation was interrupted by the sudden sound of hurried footsteps. We turned to see Jake storming in, looking visibly agitated. Behind him, Riley entered the room, panting heavily. Elaine quickly stood up, concern etched on her face, and rushed over to her friend."Riley, what's wrong?" she asked, her voice filled with worry.Riley glanced at Jake, then back
Elaine’s POV The next day dawned with an air of anticipation, the excitement of the upcoming ball palpable throughout the palace. I stood in my room, the soft morning light filtering through the grand windows, casting a warm glow on the elegant furnishings. Today was the day I would officially claim my place beside Killian, and I felt a mix of nerves and excitement.I dressed meticulously, every detail of my attire chosen to reflect the significance of the event. The gown was a deep midnight blue, the fabric rich and luxurious, cascading in elegant waves down to the floor. The intricate embroidery sparkled subtly, catching the light with every movement. I checked my reflection in the mirror, ensuring that everything was in place, feeling the weight of the moment.Riley stood beside me, equally dressed to the nines. She had been a constant support through the tumultuous events of recent days, and seeing her ready for the ball filled me with a sense of camaraderie and reassurance. Her
Killian’s POV But as Leah turned to leave, she whirled around again, her eyes blazing with fury. "You think you can just dismiss me like that? You think you can mate with a human and keep your place as Alpha? That's not how it works, Killian!"Elaine stiffened beside me, her fear transforming into a simmering rage. "Don't you dare talk about things you don't understand, Leah," she snapped. Before I could stop her, she stepped forward, her eyes flashing with determination."Elaine, don't," I warned, reaching out to pull her back, but she shook off my hand. She was too angry, too filled with righteous indignation to be swayed."You want to see what I'm capable of, Leah?" she challenged, her voice steady and unwavering. "I'll show you."With that, she began to change. I watched in stunned silence as her body shifted and contorted, her human form giving way to something much more powerful. In mere moments, Elaine had transformed into a magnificent white wolf, her fur gleaming like fresh
Killian’s POVBut I should have known Leah wouldn’t leave so easily. The next thing I knew, while I was going through my list of new elders, my phone rang. It was Jake."Killian, we have a situation," he said urgently."What is it?" I asked, already feeling a knot form in my stomach."It's Leah. She's at your townhouse, and there are pack members gathering outside. She's causing a scene, and she's dragging Elaine out with her."My blood ran cold. I wasted no time, bolting from my office and racing towards my townhouse. The drive felt like an eternity, each second ticking by in agonizing slowness. When I finally arrived, the scene was worse than I had imagined.A crowd of pack members had gathered, their faces filled with confusion and concern. Leah stood at the center of it all, gripping Elaine's arm tightly. Elaine looked frightened but defiant, her eyes searching the crowd for me."Leah!" I roared, pushing through the throng of onlookers. "Let her go!"She turned to face me, her exp
Killian’s POVAs Killian, I marched through the palace halls with a sense of determination, the echoes of my footsteps reverberating against the cold stone walls. It was time to confront Leah and put an end to her manipulative games once and for all. She had taken things too far, and I wasn't going to let her continue poisoning the pack with her lies and deceit. When I reached her quarters, I didn't bother knocking. I pushed the door open and stepped inside, finding Leah lounging on a chaise with an air of smugness. Her eyes widened in surprise as she saw me, but she quickly masked it with a sneer."Killian," she purred, her voice dripping with false sweetness. "What brings you here?""We need to talk," I said, my tone cold and unyielding. I didn't give her a chance to respond as I crossed the room and stood before her. "Your time here is over, Leah."Her eyes narrowed, and she sat up, crossing her arms over her chest. "You can't just throw me out. I have every right to be here.""You
Killian’s POV The sun had barely risen when I decided it was time to confront the elders. It was a pivotal day, one that would determine the future course of our pack. With resolve, I called for a meeting with the cabinet elders, knowing that the truth would soon come to light. As I entered the council chamber, eleven elders were already seated, their faces a mix of curiosity and suspicion. I could feel the weight of their eyes on me, scrutinizing my every move. Taking a deep breath, I addressed them with a calm but authoritative voice. "Thank you all for coming on such short notice," I began, my gaze sweeping over the room. "There are matters of great importance that need to be addressed."Without hesitation, I moved to the heart of the issue. "After careful consideration and investigation, it has come to my attention that some among you have not been loyal to our pack. Your allegiance lies elsewhere, with those who seek to undermine our unity and strength."A murmur of unease ripp
