I breathed a sigh of relief when Brutus left the guesthouse. The way he stared at Carter, I was afraid that he would recognise him. While leaving, he stared at me with an unusual warning. No matter how much he wanted to scare me off, I wouldn't.

"Mommy, look. What Alpha Luke brought for me." Carter tugged my trousers and showed me a helicopter that Luke brought for him. I smiled and rubbed his head.

"Have you said thank you?" I asked, and he nodded.

"Thank you, Alpha Luke." Carter pouted his lips. His cuteness was overloaded.

"You are welcome Champ. I hope you remember our deal." Alpha Luke said, I was surprised.

"What's the deal are you guys talking about?" I asked Carter with a puzzled face. Carter shook his head and denied telling me.

"That's our secret. Only Alpha Luke and I know about it." Carter ran inside.

"Sorry Luke, I couldn't inform you about the ceremony. Asthon appeared in the middle of the night and."

"It's okay Cassandra. You don't have to panic. I am happy that you finally decided to meet your family." Luke interrupted me in the middle. He was always generous with me. I might have worried him.

"You didn't need to come here. We were just leaving for the pack. I already booked the cab, if we are leaving in your car, I might need to cancel the cab."

I said, staring at the cab which showed a half an hour delay.

"Cassandra, we are not leaving." Alpha Luke said and I was puzzled a little bit.

"Why? What happened?" I asked. "I didn't plan to stay here."

I still wasn't able to accept the fact that Luke and Brutus knew each other.

"Well, IWA has appointed our pack to work on population growth in certain regions. As you were already here, I included our name for this region."

Luke said and my jaw dropped to the ground.

"What?" I exclaimed. I wanted to run away after my interaction with Brutus, but fate brought me again to the same place.

"What happened? Is something wrong?" Luke found the colour of my face fade away.

"No, nothing is wrong," I said when everything was wrong.

"It was your dream to work for an IWA, right? We are chosen among a few doctors in our pack. You should be happy."

Luke held my shoulder and said, he was right. The International Wolf Association, aka IWA, was working for the welfare of the wolf on a global level. They focus on various problems including population, health and education. They had improved the quality of lives of wolves in several regions. It was my dream to work with them on a global level. But not every doctor gets this opportunity, I appeared for an examination last week and cracked it successfully.

"You are right, I should be happy," I said, masking a smile on my lips. Anyway, I was not ready to lose the opportunity.

"Let's get back to the hotel. IWA already arranged a room for you and two nurses." He said showing the keys to Hotel Atlanta. It was one of the most famous hotels in the city.

"Alpha Luke, I would request you to let Cassandra stay here." Asthon emerged out of nowhere and said. I shook my head.

"Well, that's a better Idea. She needed her family right now. Well, I am leaving now. You should take a rest too."

Luke said, I nodded. Luke left in a while, I turned back and found Asthon staring at me with a shocked face.

"What is this Cassy?" He asked me, I arched my brows.

"What?"

"Do you think you can hide Carter from Brutus for long? Carter is his son. He would find it anyway." Ashton said, I took a deep breath.

"That's why I was not coming with you. So you must help me conceal Carter's identity." I said, he nodded.

Carter was the world to me, if I had not pregnant at the time of the attack, I would have not retaliated back and died in their claws. But because of Carter I stayed strong, he was my strength but also my weakness.

"Fine, but you know what will happen if he finds out about it." He said and my face turned pale. My knuckles turned white as I clenched them.

"Yes, I know. That's why I want you not to let anyone find out about it. Carter is the reason that I am still alive.."

I said and he nodded his head.

"Alright, take a nap. You must be tired." Asthon left back to the packhouse.

I went into the guesthouse and found the maid had already put him to sleep a while before. I lay beside him and caressed his head.

It was an unexpected day today. I never thought Brutus would react this way after seeing me. But Why did I feel Carl? If I was not wrong, I felt him twice. Even Clara turned excited when he held me. That was absurd.

"Let it be. I wouldn't go to see him anyway. If he thinks that Luke is Carter's father, let him think that way." I muttered and lay on the bed.

The next morning I woke up to the knock on the door. As soon as I opened the door, I found Luke was ready with his car.

"You, here?" I asked him, he was ready with his backpack. "Doctor Cassandra, it's your first day as IWA doctor, are you going to be late?" He asked me.

"But the meeting with the chairman of IWA is at two pm."

I stared at the clock. It was just eight in the morning.

"You said you will see kindergarten for Carter, can I come with you?" He asked.

I couldn't deny him even going to kindergarten.

Even though I had to stay here for a few weeks, I can't skip Carter's schooling. As I missed my school for a year, I knew the importance of schooling in life.

We found one just near the crescent moon and arrived at the IWA headquarters in the city.

"I heard he funded a huge amount to IWA three years back, he even set up huge hospitals here." Nurses talked about the chairman of IWA.

"Yes, that's why he was the first non-medico who became chairman of IWA. He is super rich and handsome too. Doctors just drool over him, he was crushed among many nurses too."

Even if they whispered it, I could hear them.

In a short while, the door opened and a man stepped inside. He was tall and well-dressed. I thought he must be the chairman of IWA. I stood and greeted him but the nurses behind me laughed.

"Sorry Doctor, I am not a chair of IWA. I am a manager here." He said, my brows furrowed.

"Then where is he?" I sneered. Within a moment, I was enveloped by a chilling aura. The atmosphere turned heavy, as the door opened again and Brutus entered.

My body froze at the place, not ready to accept my fate was this bad.

"Good morning, Alpha King Brutus."

The nurses and other doctors greeted him. He remained colder and sat on the chair as if he owned that place. The doctors left for their department, I sat on my chair.

"Doctor Cassandra, nice to meet you," Brutus spoke with a smirk on his lips. I smiled mockingly and pretended to look into the file.

I was trying my best to ignore him.

But his presence was chilling as if a giant iceberg was placed in the room.

I had no idea what else was served on my plate by the moon goddess.
