Cassandra POV
“Congratulations. You gave birth to a baby boy.” I finished the delivery and handed the baby to his mother. “He looked like his father.” Mrs. Wimbledon took her mask off and said. The couple nodded Every time a baby boy is born in the pack, I recall the day I gave birth to Carter. I was stunned to see he had the same brown hair and blue eyes as Brutus. His face reminds me of Brutus every day but more than that he reminds me of the pain I went through at that time. “I heard it’s your father’s funeral two days after. Are you not going there?” Mrs. Wimbledon asked me, My brows arched. Luke must have shared this with her. “There was no point in visiting that place. I only had a blood relation with my dad. Now he was no more, there was no point in seeing anyone else.” I couldn’t tell her that there were a bunch of people whom I never wanted to see again in my life. Brutus and my sister were one of them. “Still, if someone sent you this invitation means he values you. He wanted you to be there.” Mrs. Winbledon said, I smiled as I recalled Asthon. Ashton and I never had bad terms. We were close friends, even though he was my stepbrother, he considered me like his sister. He was the only one who cared about me and dug out everything to find my address. “It’s alright. I have a few patients waiting for their delivery by next week. It’s artificial insemination cases so I cannot leave them.” I stated. It’s the best excuse for me right now. I found Luke standing on the balcony and listening to every conversation between us. Probably he wanted me to see my family. He had seen me crying for them many times. *** Two days later “Mom, tell me the story, please,” Carter asked me, whenever we went to bed, Carter listened to a story. “Which story do you want to listen to?” I asked. “A warrior Luna. what happened when she ran away from the pack?” Carter asked me curiously. “Did she fight with black wolves?” I nodded. “Yes, she punched them with her claws. She fought hard because she wanted to save the little prince.” It was Carter’s favourite story, he listened to it every day. Just as I finished telling him a story, I heard a knock on the door. “What happened?” I whispered to Omega standing at the door. I could not agitate Carter, he had school the next morning. I was respected in the doctor's pack. They never disobey me. “Someone came to see you,” Omega informed me. I stared at the clock, it was eleven. I wondered who came at this hour. Perhaps it’s an emergency case. I wrapped the jacket around my night and stepped out of my room. I arrived in the packed living room. My body froze at the sight. It was Asthon, my brother. Someone whom I never expected to see there. “Cassy..” He approached me and hugged me. I could see he turned into a tall gentleman within five years. He just completed eighteen and I was stunned to see him this way. “I missed you so much.” He said, I rubbed my hands on his shoulder. “I sent you a letter but I thought you might not have received it. You know Dad..” He said, I nodded. “I found your letter,” I said, my voice was heavy. “But I don’t think I can come back now.” “Dad wanted you to be at his funeral. It was his last wish. I have an Alpha ceremony tomorrow, I want you to be there.” Ashton said, I chuckled. “For five years I was almost dead for everyone. Why does everyone miss me now?” Ashton grabbed my shoulder, a mild smile remained on his face. “Everyone forgot about the incident five years ago. Dad wanted to contact you but you had changed your number. When he died, he took your name. It’s the only way to help Dad rest in peace, you should attend the ceremonies.” Ashton said I pressed my lips into a thin line. I feel I could trust Ashton for now. “There is something you must know..” We both went to my bedroom and Asthon was stunned to see Carter who was sleeping on the bed. He almost froze for a long time. “This is your kid?” He rubbed his hands over Carter’s brown hair. I nodded. “Who is the father of this baby?” He asked me, and I rubbed my forehead. “Can’t you tell?” I asked him, his brows arched as he glared at Carter silently. “Is it Brutus?” I pressed my lips and nodded. His jaws dropped. “I don’t want Brutus to find out about Carter,” I said. “Even though I want to attend the best moment of your life, I don’t want to lose my son.” I clarified. I didn’t want Asthon to feel bad. “That’s it. He won’t find out about it.” Asthon assured. “You just prepare to come with me.” After Ashton insisted, I decided to go with him. I prepared my clothes and Carter's clothes for a few days. I made Carter sleep in the backseat of his car, and I sat beside Asthon. The car started and I felt sleepy. “Can I have a sleep? I had four IV sessions today and I am damn tired.” I said, yawning. “Yes! By the way, you became a famous doctor and that made me proud of you.” Asthon praised me and I couldn’t help but smile. When I woke up in the morning, I was already in a crescent moon pack, which was my father’s pack. I missed being here. “You stay here in the guest room. I will send something to eat for Carter.” Ashton said and I realised it was good to stay in the guestroom rather than anywhere else. I was about to get Carter in my arms but he woke up. “Mom, who is he?” Carter asked, his sapphire blue eyes blinking constantly. “I am your uncle, your mom’s brother,” Ashton said and Carter stared at him with a puzzled face. Asthon played with Carter for a while. “Mommy never told me I have such an amazing uncle,” Carter said. He loved when someone played with him. “Alright, I am leaving now. You better be ready for the ceremony tomorrow.” Ashton said while leaving the room. I smiled, even though the nervousness was boiling within me. This pack where I spent eighteen years of my life, everything flashed before my eyes. I opened my bag and took out the crimson-laced gown from my baggage. It was embedded with Ruby and matching ruby jewellery with it. Luke gifted it to me when I had my first session. “Mom, where are we going?” Carter asked me, I was getting ready for Ashton’s Alpha ceremony. “Mom is leaving for the Adult’s party. Children are not allowed there. You stay here with Martha until I get back.” I said, but Carter’s lips pouted. He shook his head. “No Mom, I will come with you.” Carter insisted. I sat on my knees so that I could see in his eyes. “Carter, Mommy could not take you there. If you behave well, we will go to the play zone tomorrow.” Carter loves playzone. He nodded and kissed my cheeks. “Alright mommy. I will behave well.” He said and I was relieved. I gave few instructions to Martha and left for the party hall.As soon as I entered the party hall, I noticed all the eyes stayed on me. My Ex ex-packmates were stunned to see me after five years. The hall filled with murmurs. "Is she alive? I thought she was dead. Last time she was seen begging in the rogue community.”“Has she trapped any billionaire? No wonder she is living a good life.” “She was a killer once, has she forgotten that."The mixed reaction from the crowd, many things reminded me of my dark past but I didn't care about it. Only I cared about a smiling face that had been looking at me for a while. I approached Asthon and hugged him."Congratulate Alpha Ashton, for being an Alpha of the Crescent moon pack," I said and his lips widened in a broad smile. "Thank you, Cassy." He held my hand. As soon as he was announced Alpha, he appeared more mature. "You are looking beautiful." He praised me again. I offered a smile in reply. But my smile didn't last long when I heard a familiar voice from behind. It sent shivers down my spine.
Cassandra I stared at Brutus from the corner of my eyes, he was dumbfounded. His eyes stayed on Carter as if he was trying to discover something. I hoped he wouldn't find Carter's identity. "Mommy? Is he your son?" He asked, his fists were clenched. There was a mix of surprise and anger on his face. I nodded, holding Carter who hid his face in my gown. Carter was scared, this might be the first time he was surrounded by lots of people. The crowd gathered close to us, everyone watched the drama with their widened eyes. I regretted the moment I came here. "No wonder he is your son. He had learned manners from you. You and your son belong to the streets." Evelyn spoke with gritted teeth. "Enough.." I shouted, making Brutus and Evlyn stunned. "I am not going to hear any words for me and my son. You don't have a right to punish him." I found Carter's wrist was sore. Evelyn held it extremely tightly so that it caused a mark on it. "Your son misbehaved with me and refused to
BrutusI stared at her face, her lips, her body. It felt like a dream. A twisted, intoxicating dream. I thought I began hallucinating again. That wasn't true, I had taken medicines in the morning. But when Ashton intervened, I realised it was her. Cassandra was back. For five long years, I was restless. I was consumed by hatred for her betrayal. I hated her for what she had done, I hated myself even more for being unable to move on. To the world, I was Alpha King Brutus. An epitome of strength and power but alone, I was just a restless wolf. My heart whispered that I wronged her, the punishment I gave was too severe. But my mind screamed that She was a traitor. And a traitor deserves punishment. A month ago when I received the news of a female wolf found dead outside the pack, a shiver sent down my spine. I assumed it was her. But after confirmation, I was relieved that it wasn't her. Cassandra I breathed a sigh of relief when Brutus left the guesthouse. The way he stared at Carter, I was afraid that he would recognise him. While leaving, he stared at me with an unusual warning. No matter how much he wanted to scare me off, I wouldn't. "Mommy, look. What Alpha Luke brought for me." Carter tugged my trousers and showed me a helicopter that Luke brought for him. I smiled and rubbed his head. "Have you said thank you?" I asked, and he nodded. "Thank you, Alpha Luke." Carter pouted his lips. His cuteness was overloaded. "You are welcome Champ. I hope you remember our deal." Alpha Luke said, I was surprised. "What's the deal are you guys talking about?" I asked Carter with a puzzled face. Carter shook his head and denied telling me. "That's our secret. Only Alpha Luke and I know about it." Carter ran inside. "Sorry Luke, I couldn't inform you about the ceremony. Asthon appeared in the middle of the night and." "It's okay Cassandra. You don't have t
CassandraEven though I tried to focus on the file, I could feel Brutus’s sharp eyes on me. His gaze burned my back. The nurses around me were so flirtatious that they only made eye gestures. “Do you want coffee, alpha Brutus?” One of the nurses got up. “Yes..” Brutus nodded, I watched him from the corner of my eyes. Being with him under the same roof and between four walls suffocated me. Why does it have to be him?“But I want Doctor Cassandra to bring it for me.” He said,My brows furrowed and I turned to him. Even the nurses were surprised.“I hope you won't mind, Doctor Cassandra?” He asked with a mischievous grin on his face.I nodded and walked out, I felt like I could breathe better. Now I was no longer sniffing his dominating fragrance. I walked with his usual coffee and placed it before him. I rested on my seat when he stared at the coffee with disgust in his eyes. “Doctor Cassandra, what do you bring?” He asked me, confused.“Regular black coffee, with no sugar and no m
The morning sun spilt through the curtains as I slipped into a sundress. Today, we were visiting the new kindergarten Ashton had raved about. I wanted Carter to settle into a routine for the next six months until we got back. Asthon insisted on taking care of it, but I needed to see the school myself to ensure his safety.“Ready, buddy?” I asked Carter, he nodded, moving his fingers through his hair.We drove to the school. A vibrant campus and gleaming facilities. After talking about his medical needs to his teacher, we walked out. “Mommy, can we eat something? I’m so bored with Nanny’s food,” Carter whined as he pouted dramatically.I laughed, brushing his cheeks. I missed these moments. “Let’s go there, to that restaurant.” I pointed at Luna’s Den across the kindergarten. Carter’s face lit, and we headed into that buzzing restaurant. Hardly any empty seats were visible, the architecture was so good. We finally found one and rested there.“What’s it gonna be?” I asked, scanning t

Cassandra POV"Send her to prison."Those words hit me like a thunderbolt, I stared at the cold face of Brutus in disbelief. Not ready to process what he said just now.I was standing in front of elders, like a culprit. The pack members who always watched me with respect, were glaring at me with disgust in their eyes."Brutus.. Brutus.." Tears streamed down my eyes. "Believe me, I didn't kill Alpha Bruno."I was repeating it again and again. Dying for his single glance but he was not sparing that with me.The eyes once I felt affectionate towards me, now seemed that all affection was dead. His eyes were emotionless and cold. He grabbed my chin."Really? Then why were you not on the stage but in his room holding a knife in your hand."He spoke under the crushed teeth, jerking my face. His deadly voice sent shivers down my spine.I quickly held his feet. Just thinking of being away from him kills me, I loved him by heart. Why would I try to kill his father whom he loved the most?"Brutu

Cassandra POVThe moment I opened my eyes, my gaze fell on a beautiful woman sitting in front of me. She was wearing white chiffon clothes, a mild smile on her face."Are you okay now?" That woman asked me, as she caressed my hair. Her gaze was so affectionate. The surroundings smelled so good that For a moment I felt I had died and arrived in heaven."You survived a brutal attack. If anyone was at your place, she wouldn't be alive. You are strong blood, that's why your wounds heal faster than others.”She said I recalled everything before passing out. How brutally they tried to kill me. I suddenly recalled my pup and grabbed my belly."And my baby... How is it?"I asked panickly. I was healed but I was hardly able to hear my pup. I couldn’t feel his heartbeat. Perhaps that was because of pain in other parts of my body."He is fine. I checked him, he is strong, more like an Alpha blood."My eyes widened when she mentioned him. It's a baby boy. A smile appeared on my lips despite havin
