Chapter 8. Adonis.

I woke up to the sun shining brightly against my face, its warm rays piercing through the window like a thousand tiny knives. Blinking slowly, I shielded my eyes against the blaring light, pulling myself to a seating position. My head spun, and my mind felt foggy, like a dense mist had settled over my thoughts. That's when I realized, I had overslept. That has never happened to me before. Like, since forever. I barely got up to three hours of sleep every night before I grew terribly uncomfortable, my blood lust growing to unbearable degrees.

And to fall asleep after spending a night with a random woman was even mind-boggling. Usually, I send them away immediately after, so I don't end up doing something drastic, like murdering while my bloodlust raged. The thought sent a shiver down my spine, and I pushed it away, focusing on the present.
