Chapter 14. Katrina.

I woke up the next day, my mind groggy and my head blank, as if a thick fog had settled over my thoughts. Looking around, I wondered why I wasn't waking up to the warm sun shining brightly in my face, or the soothing scent of lavender wafting through my nose, calming my senses. But then, like a slap in the face, reality hit me - I had been kidnapped, and I was currently trapped in a secret room, confined to a small, enclosed space.

Seating up, I rubbed my neck, trying to massage away the stiffness. A low groan escaped my lips as I stretched my sore body. The hard bed had been unforgiving, and I couldn't believe I had fallen asleep on it. Either I was that exhausted, or it was the lingering effects of the sedatives I had inhaled earlier, still coursing through my veins.
