KATHERINE My eyes opened, adjusting to the ray of light as I managed to sit up on the bed, head hung in my palm. No matter how much I tried not to remind myself of last night, it was now too late to regret or suck. A slight creak of the door alone and I almost had a panic attack, my hand on my chest as I slumped back under the bed sheet. I knew I was caught already when the footsteps approached, not stopping until I could literally feel the person's presence by my bed. “No amount of pretense is going to work.” It was Eva, this time she's seething beside me. “If you know what you've done, you wouldn't even be able to have a wink of sleep.” My hand shook as I held the duvet away from my face. Whatever hope I might have had left vanished when I saw the seriousness etched on her face, prompting me to sit up once again. “I don't know how I did it, I was just tempted to try one or two shots but I didn't know it was going to result into a big mess for me.” I tried to explain and she bec
KATHERINEIt's a lie if I said that didn't cause me a nightmare. Now I haven't just heard it from his Beta alone but from him also and it made me wonder if truly my parents had murdered someone related to him. The way his face flared red, I don't want to imagine how much he meant all he said. No matter how much I try to dismiss it and side with my parents, it won't change Derek's perspective of them. I should have known that for someone like him to want a person like me under his roof, there must be some hidden agenda. And now that I know, I wish I didn't have to. Little wonder I rarely see him watch him with any expression other than criticism. “That's her. The child of a murder.” Must have been his daily chant. He's going to torture me for my father's crime and like he said, I haven't even started. Was he waiting for me to fulfille my part as a breeder first before he starts to turn my life upsidedown? Will I have any chance to run away by then, at all? How long will I be able
KATHERINE “Nowhere.” Was the first word that came out of my mouth. He leaned back on his seat. “Start eating then.” I inwardly lamented and after keeping still for a while, I dug into the different dishes placed before us. I might get lucky and not choke on my food. I just have to keep my head down and not look his way. Any slight mistake, things will end up bad. “Was that your first time?” My jaw dropped when he suddenly asked out of the blue. I fanned myself trying to calm myself down, as I straightened against the chair, and looked at him. “I don't understand. First time?” I repeated a chuckle escaping me. “On my bed our first night together, was that your first time?” He adjusted himself on his position as he waited for me to speak up. “Yes it was. I mean, I was a virgin when I was bought by you.” My eyes fixated on him. My eyes went wide. I shouldn't have put it that way, was I in my right mind at all. “It was obvious.” The smirk was back on his face once ag
KATHERINEAlthough he wasn't awake to see me do it, it was still awkward tucking him under the sheets. I grabbed my torn lingerie off the floor and was tiptoing toward the door when I remembered I was still stark naked and there would be guards positioned at every doors.A crazy yet not so bad idea lighted up my head and I dashed to Derek's closet. I needed to do this before he wakes up. I grabbed one of his black leather jackets that's at the last row and wore it. I hope it isn't noticable. In the next three days, I'll find a way to slip it back into his closet. That night on my bed was spent relishing in the memories of him. It was strange he fell asleep just after the sex. I hope he doesn't remember, else, that might just replenish his anger toward me and that's something I don't want. “Wake up, Kathrine.” I can feel a hand trying to stir me out of sleep and I grunted. I didn't need to ask, when I slipped out of bed it was indeed Eva. The same Eva every day. “What is it this ti
KATHERINE I had like to silently scream when I opened my closet and the Hybrid King's jacket was nowhere to be found. I wanted to bawl and yank at my hair but not before him. I have to compose myself, in any way I can. “Where is it?” His body was almost literally pressed on my back as he growled. I swiftly turned around and gulped. “I can remember putting the jacket inside my closet that night but now I can't find it. I must have misplaced it.” I was speaking but my voice was barely audible. He moved closer, his eyes like a laser, shooting through my forehead. If a glare could kill, I would have been dead by now. “Who did you tell before touching my property? Answer me, point out who you told before you fucking touched what belonged to me!” He sneered before my face leaving me to silently observe. “I didn't ask you because you fell asleep instantly and I couldn't go back to my room naked or in a tore lingerie.” With him barely laughing at my words, my mind couldn't be at ease.
KATHERINE“And why should the guards go around the house rattling each and every one's wardrobes?” Beta Edward repeated, staring jaw stuck at me as if I just said the most impossible thing in the world. He was the best person to come to for help. With it his aid, I knew the jacket will be found and I just have to get him to agree first. “It's owned by the Hybrid King. I really have to hand it over to him in the next four hours.” There was no use hiding. I can see him holding back from scoffing, he creased his forehead slightly before he muffled something under his breath. “You never cease to make trouble.” I pretended I heared nothing and just followed behind him. Each rooms was slowly turned upside down, yet my eyes failed to pick up the sight of Derek's black leather jacket. Time ticked by, and even until the whole house was searched, nothing was found. “Leave her room out. Eva can never steal.” I dismissed them, breathing out as I wiped at my head, on my way back to my room.
KATHERINEMy hands fisted around the gate of the dungeon, my knuckles turning pale white. Adrenaline fueled my blood pressure, my muscles tensed with every amount of pressure I used at slamming my fists against the walls. I refuse to believe I was in here, placed under control for a crime I didn't commit. When I heard his footsteps and saw me stop before me alongside his guards, my dream came through. “If you think I stole your jacket then let this suffering continue. But you should know you can't just go out of your way accusing me when you were the one who torn my lingerie rendering me helpless. I had to then take your darn jacket—” I spat out in fury and my head slashed to the side as a thunderous slap hit my cheek. I looked his way and he leaned his head back, enjoying the show. I nodded putting on a grin and unlike his expectations, I continued, my anger fueled.“...As a replica of my clothes but now I realized I made a big mistake and if only I knew I should have resolved in
KATHERINE“How can I be pregnant?” I scoffed as I looked up at her from my seated position, the mere sound of ridiculous idea smearing my face with discomfort. “Don’t you look pregnant?” She asked and now that made me hope she suggested nothing at all. It's clear and evident she wouldn't be saying something like this if she was aware of what's coming out of her mouth. “No, I don't.” I muttered vehemently this time, shifting a little away from her. I didn't even realize I have long disentangled our hands. That sounded like some prank, how can I be pregnant all of a sudden? Where are the symptoms? “You don't want to be out of prison then.” When she replied, my hopes were completely shattered. Anger was visible on her face when I looked back at her, realizing she's totally right. That's a not so bad idea. “I'm pregnant then.” I stated firmly with a smirk and she looked like she was enjoying this moment meanwhile I was dying inside. This is a lie that will cost us a lot.
