Hayden-“Calm down, everything will work out.” Tristan took me back to the apartment and sat with me on the couch while I bawled like a baby.“What if it doesn’t? Hayden-A week passed, and Dominic still hasn’t returned home. No one has heard anything from Lawyer Quinn. Tristan and I went to the police station, but it was shut down. Lexus was becoming more obnoxious with each passing day.At least, that is what I heard, as I have managed to avoid him and Devon so far. I spend all of my time in Tristan’s office, and when something needs to be done outside of the office, Lily handles it for me. Instead of being upset that Dominic was missing, I let Tristan handle tracking him down while I focused on my novel.The book and cover have been officially approved. I was a little surprised because Lexus and Devon had the final say. I considered using a pen name, but in the end, I went with using my real name. Dominic-After three days of getting Hayden up to speed, I could finally relax. Well, as much as I could with everything else happening around us. At least now I wasn’t entirely in over my head, and I now had someone helping me take Lexus down. Not just him, but every crime family still in play.“Are you sure we should trust them to help?” Hayden asked as she curled up next to me on the couch.Ever since I returned home, this was the first time we had had a chance to be alone. Agent Leo had stayed the last three days to get Hayden up to speed. Hayden-“What is next?” Devon asked Lexus after they bid the reporters goodbye.“Now we ruin the relationship between them.” Lexus said.Peeking between two leaves, I saw Lexus standing with his arms crossed over his chest and a smug smile on his face. He unwrapped his arms a moment later and pulled something out of his shirt pocket. It looked like a small plastic bag with white powder inside. I didn’t know what it was but knew it couldn’t be good.“Find a way to get this into his drink today.” Lexus handed Devon the bag.“What is it?” Devon took the bag and examined it.“Let’s just say this will make him unable to resist you. After the deed is done, get evidence and find a way to show Hayden. After she learns that her lover has multiple lovers, she will likely move out of Dominic’s place. Once she no longer has Dominic’s protection, I can proceed with the next plan.”“Don’t worry, I will get this done.” Devon smiled as she put the powder in her pocket and clicked the elevator button.

Dominic-After torturing Devon for three hours, she passed out. I had to admit it took longer for her to lose consciousness than it did for most grown men. If it weren’t for Hayden being out in the car, I would continue to make Devon regret it.“What now?” Tristan asked when he handed me a handkerchief to clean my hands.“Get rid of her and clean up the evidence.” I tossed the bloodied cloth on the ground and walked away.I hoped Hayden wasn’t upset with me for taking too long. I would have had the others handle Devon for me, but I wanted to be the one to personally send her to hell. Seeing a sink on my way toward the stairs, I stopped at it to wash as much blood off me as I could.I didn’t want to scare Hayden, as she had never seen this side of me. Very rarely did I let myself lose control as I had, but I would gladly make the world burn to keep Hayden safe. Once I finished cleaning myself up, I went out to the car.Hayden was asleep in the passenger seat, holding a bag on her lap.
