Chapter 64

After three days of getting Hayden up to speed, I could finally relax. Well, as much as I could with everything else happening around us. At least now I wasn’t entirely in over my head, and I now had someone helping me take Lexus down. Not just him, but every crime family still in play.

“Are you sure we should trust them to help?” Hayden asked as she curled up next to me on the couch.

Ever since I returned home, this was the first time we had had a chance to be alone. Agent Leo had stayed the last three days to get Hayden up to speed. Wrapping my arm around Hayden, I propped my feet on the coffee table and held her close.

“There is always a risk, but it might be the only way to take care of Lexus.”

“I am just glad you are okay.” Hayden rested her head on my chest and nuzzled her head under my chin.

“I admit that working with the FBI was the last thing I wanted to do, but if it weren’t for them, I would have likely been killed by the police.”

“What do we do now?” Hayden lifted
