Chapter 61

Dominic-

“He refuses to cooperate.” A police officer who has been interrogating me on and off through the night said to the Chief of police as soon as he entered the interrogation room.

“I have been cooperating. I have told you everything I know about what happened that night.” I moved one of my hands to touch the corner of my lip, where the police officer had hit me just moments before.

“Don’t worry, I will get him to cooperate.” The Chief of Police flashed a crooked smile as he motioned for the two police officers to leave.

Flexing my jaw, I stared at the older Chief of Police as the others left. “You know what you are doing isn’t legal.”

“Who do you think they are going to believe?” The Chief sat across from me in a metal chair. “The Chief of Police or a known Mafia member?”
