Chaos Bringer: III

The eyes of the elders were filled with shock and fear. Their ancestors had been attacked? How did Mane battle them without making a single sound! “Impossible!” Magma screamed. For the first time in the several decades he had been the head of the Barbarians, he lost his cool before his people. “What is?” Mane asked nonchalantly, carelessly twisting locks of his long hair that had fallen onto his face. “You fighting the ancestors! A battle of that caliber would have shaken Intersection in its entirety!” Magma voiced out the thoughts of every elder here. They had never seen Magma this disoriented before, but they could understand why. They kept their thoughts to themselves though, saying nothing. “I think you are mistaken here,” Mane yawned lazily and said. His tone was that of one who was wasting his time speaking to people far beneath his level, and many of the elders grit their teeth in frustration at their current situation. They who were used to looking down on others were now

Chaos Bringer: IV

Magma walked hurriedly through the tunnels that lead to the mountain behind the Lord’s castle. He had never felt this much urgency whenever he visited this place, and he usually dawdled; for meeting his father was normally a draining experience. But today was different. He was anxious. He was worried. He needed to see the old man, or his heart would not be at piece.“Would you relax? I told you that I did not hurt him.”Magma wasn’t alone though. With him were two others – Mane and Matriarch Ruth. Though Magma was fast, the two easily kept up with his speed. After all, they were much stronger than him.“His anxiety had nothing to do with whether or not he believes you,” Hildegarde scoffed from atop Mane’s shoulder.“You would be this anxious too if you heard that someone attacked your father,” she added.“Well, that is true,” Mane admitted with a slight shrug. His eyes involuntarily dropped to the medallion hanging around his neck. A small smile stretched his lips, and he thought of t

Chaos Bringer: V

“So if that’s all that you were after, why come after us?” Kill Joy asked with a confused expression on her face after listening to Matriarch Ruth’s request. The request was so simple that she didn’t understand why they – the Barbarian Ancestors – had been attacked in the first place. After all, what Matriarch Ruth sought was sure to bring a lot of benefits to them all, and finally end the long rivalry between the three Great Races.“Because they wanted to make it clear who was going to be in charge,” Adviser frowned and said. Unlike Kill Joy, his mind was sharp and well tuned to the schemes of men. The only way a person would be inclined to put up as dominant a display as Mane had, was when that person wanted to assert some measure of authority in a place.“Yes. After all, which alliance doesn’t have a leader?” Pathfinder was just as sharp as Adviser. And he too was able to easily discern the reason for Mane’s earlier performance.“I apologize for my earlier conduct,” Mane bowed slig

Chaos Bringer: VI

The journey from Intersection to Amalgamation was a long one. It usually took the average man several weeks, or even some months, to travel between the two cities. For Pseudo Phenoms it could take a few days due to their impressive mounts and their great speed in general. But for Phenoms, such travels were achievable in a few hours. Some years ago it would have taken Mane a few weeks to get to Amalgamation from Intersection. Not this time. The young Supreme sped past several plains and forests in just a few blinks, and in less than half an hour, the journey to Amalgamation had been 75% completed. “Will she be okay?” Hildegarde, Mane’s trusty fairy was sitting in Mane’s hair and clutching on for her dear life. However, even under such circumstances she could speak. And even more impressive, Mane could hear her amidst the strong winds that battered his clothes and ears. “Yeah,” Mane replied; his voice not at all affected by the strong winds. “Someone has to stay behind to discuss the

The Citadel Beckons

It had been a week since return to Amalgamation. During this period he accomplished all he had set out to do. The construction work proceeded swiftly with Mane’s help, and the Amalgamation had been informed of the alliance. Once they heard that it was to deal with Pazuzu and that Mane would lead it, they were filled with very little reluctance; they readily agreed to join. Mane did wonder however, of what would have happened had they known that he was an Ancient?Afterwards Mane spent the rest of the time getting accustomed to the greatest change in his life – Sunflower. Now that the two were in a relationship, Mane had to learn the dos and don’ts he had never bothered to study before. And the young Supreme had to admit, that it was not as difficult as he thought it would be. The only difficulty was reigning in Sunflower’s antics, and explaining his whereabouts whenever he was leaving. And this morning was no exception. Having informed Sunflower of his decision to visit his first vill

The Citadel Beckons: II

“You haven’t changed that much from the last time I saw you,” City Lord Sutton looked slightly pleased by Mane’s courteous behavior; and though he stated that Mane remained unchanged over the years, the light of understanding that filled his eyes when he scrutinized the tall man before him showed that he wasn’t being genuinely honest.“Mira, do you not recognize our guest?” City Lord Sutton turned to Mira with a small smile on her face. The young lady of Asher City still had a look of confusion on her face as she tried to figure out just who Mane was. The face was familiar, but she couldn’t place it in her memories.“Lady Mira looks as graceful as ever,” Mane gave a courteous bow. Because he flew here, quite the amount of dust had gathered all over his clothes and exposed skin. With a slight shake of his arm, ever sand particle and speck of dust fell off, and he appeared much cleaner and more refined than he was before.“It’s you?!” Mira’s reaction was similar to Rusty’s. However, unl

The Citadel Beckons: III

“Would you stay for it?” City Lord Sutton probed, wanting to know when Mane planned to leave.“Unfortunately I have some business to attend to, so that would have to wait for later.” Mane’s reply seemed to have eased the tension between the two, and Mane couldn’t help but smile bitterly.Clearly they didn’t know that he was responsible for the damages their city had suffered. If they did, they would have been even more fearful of him.“It’s good they don’t know about that. If they are treating you like this now, then imagine how they would have acted knowing that you are the famed God Slayer.”Hildegarde seemed to have the ability of mind reading, for she saw through the thoughts of her Tested with relative ease.“Yeah,” Mane agreed, whilst secretly telling himself that he would have to check his spirit for any mind reading devices Hildegarde may have tethered to him.Mane continued to ask trivial questions as they walked through the mansion halls. The place was huge, and Mane assumed

Ivor Of Destruction

Ivor’s faced paled at Mane’s unexpected words. But he gritted his teeth and nodded his head. When he pledged his services to Ashera, he had promised to run everything by her before taking action. And though she had asked nothing of him, he also promised to never find a partner, so that he could remain loyal to her. But now he had broken that promise in many ways. He expected the wrath of Mane Harbinger to fall on him. He expected to lose more sensation; maybe his arms will be lost this time. But the young Supreme’s reaction stunned him. For Mane burst into exuberant laughter, his expression reminiscent of a man reveling in utter joy. “Hahahahaha!” “Hahahahaha!” “Ivor the Tattler; the scheming one has fallen in love! Hahahaha!” Mane’s hand was on his tummy; he was hunched over as he expressed his surprise and joy at the most recent news he had heard. City Lord Sutton was at a loss for words. Ivor had informed them of what would happen if he were to be found out. So he was expecting

T

Within the Asher City Lord’s mansion hall, four men and a woman Mane was greatly familiar with sat calmly. These people were the former members of the Orange Team and reigning champions of the Grand Tourney. “There is no need to look at us with such great hatred you know.” A slender man wearing a large black cloak shrugged helplessly and said. This man was the very same one who dared to assassinate the City Lord the last time he was in this city. This man was Black Hand, the close relative and right hand man of the Dragon Lord. “What did you expect? We aren’t exactly welcomed here.” Another man chuckled loudly and said. Unlike Black Hand this man was tall and large. He wore a tank top that revealed his impressive physique, and the aura of a Predator emanated freely from him. This man was the captain of the Orange Team and subordinate of Black Hand. Vital Orange! His aura had grown stronger in the past few years, but he was still a fair distance away from breaking into the Pseudo Nigh

Mr. T: II

Tucker’s eyes went wide as he shakily lifted his head. No one called him Tucker anymore. Since he left with the Black Team, everyone knew him as Mr. T; the deadly Thrasher who was capable of completing even the most difficult missions. Not even Black Hand called him by his name. The only one who did was Orange Ivy. His eyes pierced the eye of the tall young man before him, wanting to confirm that he was really the one he sought. What greeted him was a face that was well chiseled, without any fat. Those blue eyes were reminiscent of a time that was short but meaningful. And though that face was before him was more mature, Tucker was able to merge it with the younger face in his memories. “Master Mane,” Tucker shakily fell to his knees with his hands clenched by his side. Tears he didn’t know he still had slid out from the corner of his eyes and wet his face. Soon, the dangerous fighter known as Mr. T was weeping like a mourning mother. Black Hand was stunned by the name he hadn’t hea
