“Would you stay for it?” City Lord Sutton probed, wanting to know when Mane planned to leave.

“Unfortunately I have some business to attend to, so that would have to wait for later.” Mane’s reply seemed to have eased the tension between the two, and Mane couldn’t help but smile bitterly.

Clearly they didn’t know that he was responsible for the damages their city had suffered. If they did, they would have been even more fearful of him.

“It’s good they don’t know about that. If they are treating you like this now, then imagine how they would have acted knowing that you are the famed God Slayer.”

Hildegarde seemed to have the ability of mind reading, for she saw through the thoughts of her Tested with relative ease.

“Yeah,” Mane agreed, whilst secretly telling himself that he would have to check his spirit for any mind reading devices Hildegarde may have tethered to him.
