42. Welcome Home, Isla.

Isla’s POV

Diane kept dragging me up the stairs, and the second we got to the top floor, she turned to face me.

“I was worried about you; when Dario informed the pack that you were gone, everyone was on their toes.”

I doubted her words after the chaos I had caused at the full moon. I didn’t think anyone would care much about my disappearance, but I didn’t say what was brewing in my head. I just stared at Diane with a calm look on my face.

“I’m glad you’re back, though.” She said, unbothered by my quietness. “Immediately I heard you were saved and you were heading back. I rushed over here to prepare you a bath.”

“That’s nice of you!”

She rolled her eyes, “I’m just doing a very cousin-ly thing.”

“Are there more cousinly treats afterwards?” I questioned, batting my eyelashes.

“Don’t push it!” She warned with a fake stern expression.

I flashed a smile her way.
