46. Getting To The Bottom Of Things

Isla’s POV

I stepped inside the meeting hall, and the councilmen all rose, bowing their heads to pay their respects to Dario.

They moved their eyes in my direction, and a look of sympathy flashed across their faces. Their eyes swerved from my direction to the door when they heard it open.

I moved my eyes away from them and noticed that the guards had entered with Silvan, Katherine and their parents.

Silvan avoided my face as usual, but Katherine had a feisty look on her face; she didn’t feel any drop of guilt.

“That brat!” Nima cooed. “Unleash me. I want to rip her head off.”

“Let’s wait for the men to do their jobs,” I told her. "They would pass on a good judgment.”

“I think mine would be better.”

“Just relax.” Nima was quiet after this. Silvan and his family were pushed to the centre of the room. All eyes were on them, and from the looks on Dario’s face, he was feeling just like how Nima was.

I felt like he wanted to rip their heads off.
