After Isla left, leaving behind a faint trace of her scent, I set down the book I had been reading and leaned back in my chair, my thoughts swirling with the implications of her recent transformation. The page detailing excess pheromones lay open before me.

While there were similarities in symptoms between Isla’s experience and what was in the text, I quickly noticed that Isla’s transformation that day had a more significant effect. She could sway even wolves that had sealed the mate bond with their mates.
