44. I Will Take You Right Here

Dario’s POV

I stormed into my mansion with my face stern, but my heart was telling a different story. It was beating rapidly in my chest as the thought of losing Isla ran through my head. I didn’t know if I could handle losing her again.

“You fear losing her and still push her away!” Kai said, sarcasm dripping from his tone.

“How ironic?” He added in spite.

“This isn’t the time for this, Kai!”

“Probably, if you didn’t push her away. This wouldn’t have happened.”

I felt guilt run through my brain. Kai had stopped talking, but once again, his words were resonant.

I was about to climb up the stairs when Jonas approached. He had a disturbing look on his face, and the guilt running through my veins intensified.

“Is there any news on Isla?” I questioned him, watching his face and searching for a change in his expression.

“I saw Isla head out with Diane!”

His words had stopped the guilty feeling running through my veins, and for a second, I felt a form of relief.

“Why don’t you call her?”
