A Brilliant Escape

Three hours before the dinner invitation in the palace…

“Are you sure, Princess Celestine? It will change your skin tone,” she paused and examined the bottle potion in her hand, “Becoming freaking blue…” she turned her sight back to Celestine.

They were inside the dressing room and Ersa prepared the dress with its accessories, Celestine was quite flapping for the dinner moment.

She squinted her eyes as Celestine studied the notes from Moustache on a table.

Celestine stopped reading and turned her head at Ersa.

“That’s the point.” She said and nodded as a sign of agreement at the time Ersa showed her a red dress.

Ersa sighed, bringing it to Celestine. “Hope you’ll be fine then.” She saw Celestine drinking the potion all.

The hall was crowded with the king’s guests. The dinner time would be held and left for counted time. King Victor wasn’t there, the guests were the noble family members from the kingdom, the Wallachian kingdom where King Othello ruled and the aristocrat people from King Dragon’s side.

Some of guests were murmuring at the time Celestine walking along the lane. A long red dress with sweeping tail looked amazing in her lean posture.

She saw a young man in his noble costume waiting for her, to escort her to her seat.

“Princess Celestine. Welcome.” Oliver, a son of King Othello greeted her with a smile, drawn with his smirk.

Celestine accepted his hand as he bowed in front of her.

“You look gorgeous but honestly you should dye your hair lighter.”

He muttered and glanced at Celestine who walking next to him, coldly put her fingers on his hand.

“Thank you, really appreciate it, cousin.” She smiled widely and turned her head to the guests. Every pair of eyes was on her, some of them were screwing up, the others were widening their pupils with big smiles on their lips.

Their steps stopped as a man in his good costumes approaching.

He was King Dragon.

“The stars will be jealous as one of them has gone down to this palace, to enlighten the night with us, my dear.”

He complimented but Celestine tried to take it lightheartedly.

“Or they try to tell the going down star, beware of the strong dragon…” She beamed at him.

Oliver had left to give King Dragon a chance with her.

“I’ll take that as appreciation, my dear.” King Dragon smirked and kissed her backhand gently before walking with her to the seat for them, arranged for a couple.

The party had been sparked. Some musicians of King Dragon’s orchestra were playing some instrumental songs, ignited desires to dance.

Celestine gulped, the stares of King Dragon appeared commanding for her to take his hand to dance with him.

“I know you will be glad that our engagement will be announced.” King Dragon confidently whispered in her ear as they were dancing.

Celestine inhaled, trying to stay calm within her arguing mind instead of beaming.

“I hope the fire of your words could protect me from any mockeries, halting of spreading the news about me.”

King Dragon looked at her and obviously examined the woman dancing with him.

“What news?” His voice sounded turning lower.

Celestine sighed, looking at him.

“I can’t be too excited, nervous and angry.”

King Dragon grinned and looked away to the others dancing.

“What happens?”

Celestine didn’t reply but she looked into the king’s eyes. There was a flame of curiosity inside those green eyes.

“I don’t know if I have a brave heart to tell you about it…it was so scared…like the time we were kissing.”

King Dragon screwed up his eyes. “You think that moment was scared?”

Celestine sighed then she gave a nod.

King Dragon grunted. He yanked her hand to come out from the dancing circle, keeping walking to the balcony. The other eyes were looking at them.

“What you doing?” Celestine pulled her dress as she scurried to catch up the marching steps of King Dragon.

King Dragon looked at her, bringing her in to get closer. They were standing near the rails of the balcony. He pushed Celestine to the rails of the pillars on the balcony. He moved his face closer to Celestine. She could feel his warm breath on her cheek and then, gently, King Dragon landed his lips on hers, slowly squeezing her lips and made her eyes unconsciously shut up.

“Is it scared?” He asked and took a deep breath.

Celestine opened her eyes and gulped. Her blood was pumping faster into her chest, heatwave hit her cheek and made her flushed.

“Hell. What happening?” a few seconds within, King Dragon bounced a few steps back. He looked so shocked.

“You changing into blue.” He gulped.

Celestine gulped too. She observed her fingers changing to become blue.

“That what I am going to talk with you…” she covered her mouth and looked at around her.

Some guests stopped dancing, they were uttering.

“What happening?” King Othello approached Celestine and King Dragon, Queen Eleanor was scurrying from behind.

“Gosh.” Queen Eleanor covered her mouth with a hand, watching Princess Celestine was changing her skin tone becoming blue as pale blue as the bluebells petals were.

Celestine looked away from King Dragon and those people’s sight, she was half running away to her escape from their mocking faces.

“We cancel this engagement due to unnoticeable period of time, ladies and gentlemen.” King Othello announced and left to the other room with King Dragon and Queen Eleanor.
