Chapter 31

Zydan-

Going to my desk, I sat before my computer and stared at the dark screen. The reflection on the monitor wasn’t mine, or maybe it was, and I didn’t recognize myself. I also didn’t know what Jaxon was talking about. I know I had been on edge and ready to snap at the first person who looked at me wrong.

As far as putting someone in danger, I felt he was imagining things. I also didn’t remember Jaxon telling me I should stay home for a few days. My phone rang as I stared at my computer without turning it on.

“Hello?” I answered without checking to see who called.

“You need to go home.” My father’s voice came through the speaker.

“Not you, too.” I groaned and glared at my office door. “Don’t listen to Jaxon. I am fine.”

“No, you aren’t. You are showing signs of dissociation and have developed a split personality. Do you remember talking to me this morning?”

“Should I?” I leaned forward and turned on my computer.
