Selena's POV

My throat was scratchy but quiet. Rufus turned his head away, as if he didn't hear me.

He gently sat me down in the chair when he finally sat down.

The servant quickly served dinner and then left. There were three of us at the table, me, Rufus, and Samantha, with the maids standing.

Lillian was nowhere to be found. It seemed like she hadn't left her Spell room unless it was important.

We ate quietly, with the occasional clinking of spoon..

Samantha kept staring at me from time to time.

I quickly ate, got up, and said, "I'll go back to my room to take a shower first." Without waiting for Rufus to respond, I had already made my way upstairs.

The heating in Yellow Moon Pack was too poor, and I hadn't taken a good shower in the past two days.

Now, after dinner, I just wanted to take a comfortable shower.
