78. Prognosis

Jessica had fallen asleep not long after we reached our room. We had set up Maverick on the bed, and Jessica had fallen asleep nestled close to him. It was such an adorable view. I had never really thought much about having kids. But in the short time, Maverick has been with us, I was starting to wish for kids of our own. I was loving being a father, or in this case, an uncle. Jessica also seemed to be adapting to the lifestyle quite quickly as well. I knew she would be a fantastic mother.

One of Jace's men had brought our things to our room. Until we could find out what had happened, Jace wanted us to stay here. The hospital became a sort of safe house. No unauthorized personal were allowed access to our floor.

Jace kept his promise and came into our room a few hours later. I raised my hand to stop him from waking Jessica and Maverick. Thankfully, he understood right away, and turned around, leaving the room. I took a quick look at both Maverick and Jessica. I smiled seeing them c
